❓ Frequently Asked Questions About Deleting Backup Files
SIS-Pass Management allows you to create backup data. The app creates a new file each time you create a backup. This behavior often leads to questions like the following:
I'm having trouble with the constant stream of backup files. I want to delete them. Is there a way to overwrite them?
We apologize for the inconvenience, but SIS-Pass Management is designed with the following in mind.
💬 Answer to Question
Currently, backup data is not overwritten; a new file is created each time.
This is because we prioritize safety and prevent data loss.
For example, even if you accidentally delete important data, you can recover it by using previous backup data.
🛠️ What We Considered During the Design
The fact that backup files continue to grow unless they are deleted was an issue that was identified during the feature development stage.
For example, we previously considered making overwriting saves optional in the settings.
However, given the differences in the specifications of each cloud storage service and the differences in Android device specifications, we have adopted the current method after considering how to balance providing consistent functionality. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
How to Delete Backup Files
In order to ensure safe backups, the SIS-Pass Management app does not include a feature for deleting backup files. However, files from device storage and various cloud services can be deleted separately.
For Device Storage
When backing up to storage, you can save files to any location you like. Therefore, backup files are stored in the location you specified as the file destination.
Storage Location: In the folder specified when creating the backup.
App Used: A file manager app that can handle files.
How to Delete: Go to the storage location above and delete the db file with the name you want to delete.
For Cloud Storage
For cloud backups, use the web service or official app of each cloud service. For Google Drive, the folder is located in "My Drive."
Storage location: In the "SisPassMgr" folder of various cloud services.
Apps used: Web services or official apps for various cloud services.
How to delete: Go to the storage location above and delete the database file with the name you want to delete.
Simply deleting a file may leave it in the "Trash." If the file remains in the Trash, it will appear in the backup file list in SIS-Pass Management. Deleting the file from the "Trash" will also remove it from the SIS-Pass Management list.
Conclusion
Backup data can be used for data transfer when changing devices, as well as for data recovery in the event of sudden device failure or loss. We recommend that you create backups regularly.
