CONS

App crashes when accessing device options in history

Laggy UI performance occasionally

Speed test results may not reflect local server conditions

Limited availability of cellular signal testing options

Issues with dual SIM provider display accuracy

Some features require improvements for worldwide usage

Lack of dark mode option

Potential difficulty for average users to interpret detailed data

The RTR-NetTest, known as RTR-Netztest in German, assesses not only the speed of your current internet connection (upload, download, ping, signal strength) but also various quality metrics such as VoIP capability, unaltered content delivery, website performance, transparency of connection, DNS functionality, and port accessibility.

Guide: Upon launching the app, several icons offer insights into your internet connection status: whether you are on mobile data or WLAN, background data usage, your IP address, and location. The start button initiates the RTR-NetTest process. Following the speed test, Quality of Service (QoS) tests are conducted. Progress for these QoS tests is illustrated with horizontal bars. After all evaluations are finalized, you can view the results and additional detailed information in the summary section. The menu positioned on the left provides access to various features including home, history, map, statistics, help, information, and settings.

The application offers:

- An option to retrieve individual test outcomes alongside the ability to synchronize results across multiple devices and display them in a browser within the "history" feature.

- A map displaying all test results with filter options based on measurement parameters, statistics, internet service providers, and devices under the "map" section.

- A presentation of the five most recent tests and statistics concerning the performance of internet providers and all utilized devices/browsers, complete with filtering capabilities by quantile, measurement parameters, and timeframes under the "statistics" feature.

- Insights into quality parameters including signal strength, connectivity across various ports, modifications during data transfer, and the duration required to load a reference website.

- A traffic light system rating for the measurement outcome.

Additional functionalities of the app include:

- Support for 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS, HSPA), 4G (LTE), and 5G (NR) connections, applicable for both IPv4 and IPv6.

- The availability of test results as open data.

- Access to the source code repository.

For further details about the RTR application, comprehensive FAQs are provided.

Why should I test my connection?

· The available bandwidth is a significant quality feature of your Internet access. The RTR-NetTest offers you the opportunity to check whether your current bandwidth (download, upload, ping) meets your expectations.

· In the mobile version of the RTR-NetTest also the signal strength (depending on your device) of your connection is tested.

· There is an additional option to compare your test results with the average values of other users.

· Additionally in the current mobile versions (Android, iOS) certain quality parameters can be tested as well (see QoS).

· All versions of the RTR-NetTest offer the possibility to perform automatic test repetitions (loop mode).

· The browser version of the RTR-NetTest offers the possibility to carry out a certified measurement. This can provide conclusive findings about the quality of Internet access.

· Your test results are also helpful for other users.

What is tested?

With the RTR-NetTest you can test the quality parameters of

· download,

· upload,

"No Sir" echoed through the room. Two days for device test results felt excessive. So much personal data at stake. The concern was real. A lot of trust needed for access like that.

It isn’t working right. Issues remain unresolved. It can’t handle PDF or CSV queries. Needs fixing!
