Notification light for Pixel - Notification light & LED

On July 30, 2024, I decided to give it another shot after watching a YouTube video about the setup. This time things went much better. Following the specific instructions closely really made a difference. Before that, on July 28, 2024, my experience with the Pixel 8a was frustrating. The notification light didn’t work at all. The always-on display showed notifications, but if there was something else I needed to do, it felt overly complicated. Eventually, I just uninstalled it.

This app is amazing! It works perfectly on my stock Pixel 6. I gave it a shot on my rooted Pixel 7 Pro, and I faced some difficulty getting the light to form a complete circle around the camera hole. I managed to get the bottom section around the camera, but two vertical lines stretched straight up. No matter how much I adjusted it, I could not get it to circle properly. By the way, I'm on the A15 with the latest November security update. After uninstalling and reinstalling a few times, I finally achieved that perfect circle. Now it looks fantastic! Huge thanks for creating this awesome utility. It really makes a difference!

The Pixel 8 Pro has some imperfections. The circle around the camera isn’t quite right. It appears larger than the one that lights up when unlocking the phone, which is part of the device's features. The light circle from this app doesn’t match perfectly. I can share screenshots with labels to clarify the differences, so you can see what needs attention.

I totally get that feeling. A notification makes a huge difference. If I don’t see that little alert, my phone might sit there untouched. So many messages and emails just piling up. It’s strange how something so simple isn’t standard on phones. That coffee is definitely worth it for better communication.

I had a frustrating experience with the app. I bought the pro version on my old phone and loved it. When I switched to my new Pixel 7 Pro, I found the app wouldn’t recognize my previous purchase. I reached out to the developer, but they just directed me to Google. I contacted Google, but they couldn’t help either. If you buy this app and change phones, expect to pay again. This is disappointing.

The Pixel Fold has been nothing short of amazing since I got it. I haven't faced any issues with it. Truly one of the best devices out there right now.

I really missed the notification light from my Samsung when I switched to the Pixel 5a. It almost made me give up on the Pixel altogether.
