How to Access TikTok Now
Whether you’re using an iPhone or Android, first ensure your TikTok app is updated. For users in the U.S., the new Now tab should appear to the right of the Home tab at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Note: Can’t find the Now tab? If you’re outside the U.S., you may need to download the separate TikTok Now app (distinct from the main TikTok app). U.S. users can skip to this section of the article for troubleshooting.
Tap the Now tab. If you haven’t posted your daily TikTok Now yet, you’ll be prompted to share one.
To start creating your daily TikTok Now, press the Post button.
Capture your TikTok Now. You have three minutes to take a photo and can retake it as many times as you want within this timeframe.
Once you’re satisfied with your photo, tap the button above the blue checkmark to select your visibility settings: Friends or Everyone.
When ready, tap the checkmark to post your TikTok Now.
Your post should now appear on your Now page, with a timestamp displayed in the bottom-left corner.
How to Delete a TikTok Now
First, find your TikTok Now post on your Now page.
Then, press the arrow at the bottom-right corner of the screen, locate the Delete button (marked by a garbage can icon), and tap it.
You should then see a prompt: Delete this Now? If you’re certain you want to remove your TikTok Now, press Delete. This will delete the post, and if you’re still within the daily posting window, you’ll be prompted to take and post another Now.
How to Delete a TikTok Now from Now Memories
So, what happens if you want to delete a Now but it's not on your Now page anymore? You can still access and delete it from your Now Memories page. Here's how:
From the Now tab, click on the Now Memories button at the top of the page.
Tap the arrow to open the Share menu, then tap the Delete icon at the bottom of your screen. Confirm by tapping Delete again. Your TikTok Now will no longer appear in your Memories.
Why Can't I Access TikTok Now
If the TikTok Now tab is missing from your app, here are a few possible explanations:
The primary reason is likely that TikTok Now hasn’t been rolled out in your region within the main app. As TikTok has stated, users outside the U.S. may need to download the standalone TikTok Now app instead.
For U.S. users facing this issue, it might be a temporary bug. Try closing the app completely and reopening it to refresh its interface.
As shown in the image above, this is clearly a bug. The in-app push notification prompting me to post my Now is pointing to the Discover tab.
Thankfully, closing the app completely and reopening it seems to fix the issue. If refreshing the app doesn’t resolve the problem, check your app permissions. I’ve noticed that when I open TikTok with microphone and camera permissions disabled, the Now tab doesn’t appear on the control bar—only the old Discover tab does.
At the time of writing, TikTok Now has only been publicly available for a few days, so these minor bugs will hopefully be resolved soon.
If you’re wondering why you can’t see any of your friends’ TikTok Now posts, it’s likely because you haven’t posted your own Now for the day.
Like BeReal, TikTok Now has a no creeping policy—a stark contrast to the rest of TikTok’s features. To view your friends’ Nows, you’ll need to take a selfie of your own.
