Think about how you want to showcase your channel—the right profile picture is all about aesthetic. For personal channels, I suggest using a photo of yourself. Avoid awkward angles and poor lighting so viewers can see the real you. Be yourself and let your personality shine! For businesses, use a logo that’s consistent across all social media to build brand recognition—repeating your logo helps viewers remember your brand.

Here’s how to change it:

Click your profile picture in the top right corner.

Select your channel from the dropdown menu.

Hover over your profile picture and click the camera icon.

From here, you’ll access the YouTube Studio, where you can upload a profile picture, banner, and watermark (which appears in the bottom-right corner of videos). Under Profile picture, click Change to upload an image from your device.

Since profile pictures are cropped into a circle, choose an image with white space around the subject. Click Done, and you’re set! If the old picture persists, wait a few minutes and refresh the page.
