FAQ

1. Adding images from a hidden folder / folder with a .nomedia file

Newer Android versions restrict file access to only media files for the app, so adding images with are explicitly marked as "nomedia" might not work on all devices. You can try add the images using a file browser app and "share" them with WallpaperChanger

2. I want the app to change my wallpaper at a specific time

You need to add a new rule by clicking the '+' icon in the first page of the app. You can specify the time then. Using the 'change wallpaper every xxx minutes' will not help, as this option will not change the wallpaper while the home screen is not visible (screen off or fullscreen app in the foreground) to saver battery

3. Static wallpaper mode not available any more

The static wallpaper mode has been removed on Android 8+ as it is no longer compatible with Android battery optimizations features

4. Images are too big/too small/cropped/too much zoomed

If you're not using the app in live wallpaper mode, then displaying the actual image is handled by your launcher application and I don't have any influence on how it's shown. On some launchers (like Apex or Nova) you can enable or disable scrolling wallpapers etc. which influences that positioning.

    The free version works as promised. My phone is Samsung S10 Lite, and the app changes my wallpaper every 30 minutes from a chosen folder. I add more images to the folder occasionally, and the app picks them up every two hours. You can also change the refresh time. Good job.

    So, there's this app that I've been using for about ten years. It's always been dependable and the best one out there without any extra stuff. But now, after switching to a Pixel 7a with Android 13 and 14, it won't let me add a cropped image unless I put it in a folder. I really wish they can fix this problem because I want to give it a perfect five stars like I used to.

    The app is terrible. The wallpaper albums we make keep getting turned off on their own. I want a refund. I paid for the app but it's not working properly. I made 4 albums with one wallpaper each and set up rules to change them at different times. The rule is supposed to switch to each album I made, but then the other albums get disabled automatically.

    Yeah, so you know how you can only choose one photo at a time to upload? It's kind of silly. And if you want to pick more, you have to use folders, which is just a hassle. I don't get why we can't select multiple photos together. It's like they're making it hard on purpose, haha. 🤷

    Samsung was doing great with One UI 5, but things changed with One UI 6. The background blur in the app drawer stopped working, which is a bit disappointing. I'm not sure if it's the app's fault or One UI's. I tried some other auto changers, which weren't as good, but their app drawer background blur was working fine. Maybe an update is needed?

    I've used this app for a few years and it's great. It does exactly what it promises and keeps my phone wallpaper interesting. I love being able to double-tap for a new wallpaper, perfect for those dull moments!

    An issue popped up in the app where if you double tap the screen to change wallpapers, it crashes after a few changes. Hopefully, they can fix this problem soon! I really like this app though so I hope they sort it out.

    A big problem: I set my wallpaper to change every thirty minutes and stretch across the screen. But when I'm watching YouTube and my phone rotates, the wallpaper also flips horizontally with black bars. This keeps happening until I restart the app. It's really annoying. Fix this and I'll give 5 stars if I buy it.
