Sky On Fire: 1940 is an independent flight simulation game set during World War II!

The game is set in the initial phases of the conflict, covering events from the Battle of France to the Battle of Britain. Players can choose from four nations: Germany, France, England, and Italy. You can pilot a variety of aircraft, featuring iconic models such as the Spitfire, Hurricane, B.P. Defiant, Bf 109, Bf 110, Ju 87, Ju 88, and He 111.

The multicrew system allows you to manage each crew member within your aircraft, enabling you to let the AI take the controls while you focus on shooting down enemies with a rear-gun position!

Create your own missions with the integrated editor, and utilize a free camera and photo mode to capture and save your favorite moments.

Engage in thrilling dogfights against a tough AI; the mission editor allows for various combat scenarios, whether it be one-on-one or large-scale battles featuring numerous planes.

This project has been developed largely as a student initiative, with me being the sole developer. There’s an online community where you can stay updated on new features and engage in discussions.

Don’t underestimate the low-poly graphics; the game implements realistic physics based on aerodynamic principles, making it as true to life as possible!

This could be labeled as the most authentic WW2 flight simulator available on mobile devices.

This game is amazing! A real flight sim that works perfectly on mobile. No annoying ads and no need to spend a dime to enjoy it. Many other flight sims require money, but this one doesn’t. The controls can be a bit tricky at first, which is normal when adapting from PC to mobile. I totally recommend it for anyone who loves military aviation. Oh, and imagine a Vietnam-era version of this game! That would be fantastic! Just a thought.

When I first saw the graphics, a wave of skepticism washed over me. They didn’t seem to match the level of games like Wings of Steel. Then, I dove into gameplay and was blown away by the astonishing accuracy in flight mechanics. It took me back to War Thunder with its incredible realism. Take the Hurricane and Spitfire, for instance. Both planes had engines with float carburetors. This design meant that putting them into a steep dive or flying them inverted caused the engine to momentarily cut out due to fuel issues. The developer nailed this detail perfectly, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the experience.

This WWII combat flight simulator is fantastic! Every aircraft has incredible detail. I bought everything, including the workshop. It could use more planes like the Hampden or the Halifax. The gameplay is enjoyable too! I took down several HE 111 bombers with my Spitfire squadron. One downside is the inability to save campaigns in the campaign editor. That means starting over every time when you want to edit a new one. Overall, I’d give it four stars!

This game stands out in the indie dogfight category for mobile. The art style appears vibrant with its polygonal design. Controls feel intuitive and responsive, making it easy to jump right in. Players enjoy a sizable selection of planes, although many require payment. Those dedicated to the PC version can find ways around some costs. Physics in the game lean toward realism, adding to the overall experience. A few players notice their fighter aircraft shakes during maneuvers like a yoyo. Conditions can lead to unexpected spins or even death spirals that interrupt gameplay. This creates a bit of frustration for those who love aerial acrobatics. Whether it's a deliberate mechanic or an unforeseen bug remains unclear. Each flight offers excitement, yet these issues can challenge even skilled pilots.

This game is incredible. The aesthetic is beautiful, and the controls feel just right. Each plane has its unique design, showing the effort put into this project. You can really appreciate the hard work. But it feels a bit sparse in activities. Combat is available, but there's a limit to what you can do. Adding new areas like France or the Pacific theater could spice things up. Introducing more planes would also expand the experience. Other than that, it’s an amazing game with so much potential. I absolutely love it!

I am blown away by how realistic this game feels. The buttons can get a bit overwhelming, but they really enhance the experience. One downside is the limited selection of planes. It would be fantastic to see more options, like the P-51, F4U Corsair, and Dauntless Dive Bombers. More maps would be great too. Right now, there's only the Battle of Britain map. A map featuring aircraft carrier takeoffs and landings would add so much excitement. I already enjoy the game, and with these additions, it would become even more incredible!

This flight simulator game is amazing, seriously. I’ve never experienced anything like it on mobile before. The variety of aircraft is incredible. You can create scenarios and set up your own battles. The level of detail in this game blows my mind. It’s easily one of the best games I've played, especially for a mobile platform. I can't get enough of it and I'm excited to see what comes next. Definitely a perfect score!
