Listening to the Rebels

Listening to our players is a crucial part of community management at Hutch. And we’re always looking for new ways to listen more and answer questions.

Recently we’ve started running AMAs on Discord. For those who haven’t come across them, an AMA is a popular Reddit Acronym for “Ask me anything” and it’s seeped across the internet.

Rebel Racing

AMAs are proving to be a great way to spend dedicated time with our players, talk through their ideas and of course, answer their burning questions!

In our November session, we had 419 readers, 107 chatters and over 400 messages. The passion of our Rebel racers always shines through and their input is shared with the Rebel game devs where it feeds directly into our game updates and events.

You can read all the questions and answers from the Rebel Racing Discord AMA here: https://posts.google.com/share/kJamlg4A/ZHXhlW

Rebel Racing Rivals!

It’s Pacific Coast Cruisers vs Desert Town Drifters in a brand new Rebel Racing face-off! Players get to pick a side and race to unlock team rewards...

Rebel Racing

But it's more than just Red vs Blue! There are Manufacturer items available to claim at the end of the event. Like the crates in Car Imports, these Special Crates will drop different items in different volumes! The Desert Town Drifters will be racing for Chevrolet and Ford items, while the Pacific Coast Cruisers are chasing down BMW and Porsche loot.

Players can earn points just by racing, and get DOUBLE points for Tracks & Laps races, or by using their team's hashtag on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Rebel Racing

But nobody goes away empty-handed... at the end of the competition, all players in Rebel Racing will be able to open the winning team's crate in game. The race is all about making sure the crate that unlocks for everyone is the one you really want!

The experience has been interesting, but reaching mid-level brings frustration. Higher racing levels seem impossible to conquer without spending a fortune on upgrades. Countless hours spent trying to advance feel wasted. It's all about money and how players choose to use it. To me, these online games often don't justify the costs. It feels like you need deep pockets to succeed, and that just doesn’t sit right.

I really enjoy this game, especially because it features my old car, the 1971 Mach 1 Mustang. Racing it was such a thrill! I only lost once to a newer Mustang with a supercharger. Those days of racing feel like yesterday. Now, I don't hit the track with my Mach 1 anymore, but this game definitely brings back those awesome memories. It’s funny how when I showed my husband pictures from the game, he thought it was my actual car! There's just a small difference though—my yellow and black Mach 1 has stripes on the side that aren’t in the game.

You enjoy the game, but something feels off. The game handles breaking, accelerating, and drifting for you, taking away that sense of control over your car. You want full control, like in other racing games. The nitrous button shows up only once during a race, and you think it should work like Asphalt 9. Performing special maneuvers should earn rewards like cash and nitro. An in-car camera view would add to the experience. A hand brake button for drifting, a gas pedal, and brake pedal would enhance the gameplay. Plus, the rewards feel too low; they don’t match the excitement of racing.

The game is a blast! The head-to-head racing really adds excitement. It would be awesome if everyone had to race the same set number of times without buying extra races. That way, everyone is on a level playing field. The re-race feature is neat but having some limit on how often it can be used makes sense. Lately, I've only been losing those ghost races. When someone has endless re-races, it feels unfair. A weaker opponent can edge out because they keep getting chances to compete again. It could use a bit of balancing!

Wow! The graphics, the physics, and the racing experience are incredible! Everything feels so alive. One thing I noticed is the fuel tank situation. When it runs empty, it takes 10 minutes to fill up. That waiting period can feel a bit tedious. Just sitting there watching the timer isn't my favorite part. Other than that, everything else is perfect! I really love this game!

The game feels pretty average overall, clearly aimed at making money. The graphics look nice, but that’s the highlight. Driving physics are quite terrible, and the currency system leaves much to be desired. The team system has been around for about two years, yet there’s still no team chat feature. It’s disappointing, especially for someone who has played since day one and even pre-registered. Something keeps pulling me back in, though. For new players stepping in, good luck!

This game is fantastic! Huge shoutout to the developers for bringing it to life for everyone. It feels awesome to see it reach a global audience. I agree with Joshua on wanting more laps in the game instead of just one. It would really enhance the experience. Adding engine sounds, especially those with turbos, would crank up the excitement. Tuning engines and hearing the right noises adds so much to the fun. Besides that, you've done an incredible job with this game. Five stars all the way! 👍👍🙂

The game is fantastic. Two things really stand out. First, the energy system could use a boost. Eight blocks feel quite limited. Expanding capacity through leveling up or using in-game currency could make it more balanced. Second, the tracks are super short. They feel way too brief. Maybe adding loops or longer designs would enhance the experience. Overall, this game shines. I highly recommend it, and it's easy to get into. Thank you!

This game stands out as an incredible car racing experience, arguably the best in its category. Ads show up now and then, but only if players want a boost, like a chance for an extra race or a re-race. Buying cars with real money feels necessary to unlock additional track areas like offroad, Mini, and Tracks&Laps. The prices are reasonable, often lower than a coffee. I don’t mind spending a little on these small expenses since ads don't constantly interrupt the gameplay like other games do. Finding gold is quite challenging. Many events require it, and although participants can earn some back, it’s always a struggle. Some cars seem nearly impossible to obtain, locked behind low-chance crates that require those elusive gold keys. Despite these obstacles, exciting activities always keep players entertained.

The game looks amazing with stunning graphics and enjoyable gameplay. The fun factor drops because the races are too short. The biggest issue is the pay-to-win aspect. Without spending money, a large portion of the game feels pointless. Many cars remain out of reach due to their high prices or because they are just unattainable. The game tries to keep you engaged by making progression sluggish unless you play for hours every day.
