Frequent bugs and app malfunctions reported

Prices listed often outdated or incorrect

Complaints process unclear and ineffective

Limited menu items and missing essential products

No option to save selected city/district settings

Poor quality of delivered goods

Lack of proper price enforcement in the market

Delivery services limited and unreliable

Qeemat Punjab has been created to inform the public about the daily prices of fruits, vegetables, and essential goods as determined by the District Commissioners. If any user notices a mismatch in the pricing or daily rates, they can submit an online complaint through the app. The complaint will be directed to the appropriate Price Control Magistrates, and both the market and shop locations are Geo-Tagged for accuracy. Users will be notified once their complaints are addressed within the specified timeframe. All activities related to these complaints are closely monitored by relevant departments to ensure efficient service delivery and to foster communication between users and the department.

Overview

The Punjab Information Technology Board, an autonomous body set by Government of the Punjab, provides the foundation for Punjab’s innovation economy. The Board aims at not only modernizing the governance techniques through transparency induced methods but also at increasing the digital literacy of the citizens - among many other services. PITB is committed to effectively and efficiently provide IT services and infrastructure to the government and local and international businesses.

History

IT is the fastest growing Industry in the world and keeping in view its demand, Government of the Punjab felt the need to create a department that would be solely responsible for its prosperity through Information Technology. It was further decided that the department shall also monitor global opportunities, cater to the growing needs of IT, develop policy alternatives, and plan and rapidly implement initiatives for building an internationally competitive IT industry in the province. Resultantly, Punjab Information Technology Board was formed in 1999...

PITB achieves new milestone in education sector - Aspiring to do more

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

The students of Punjab have now been facilitated by the Government of Punjab through electronic books. This initiative will not only make it easy for students to access knowledge but also helps them assimilate it better. Is an electronic book really so different from a conventional book? Yes, it does help bridge the logistical issues students have while accessing books, but PITB has taken it a step further by incorporating interactive simulations, audio recording of the book and making these books bilingual.

This project, ‘eLearn’ was inaugurated by the CM on January 6th, 2014. A repository of 8 digital books of grade 9th and 10th was published online. The subjects covered were Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Math. Parallel uploading is now under action with the development of more chapters. The project although initiated with science subjects, is quickly moving towards humanities. Keeping immediate action to aid the students in mind, humanities were not made the initial focus of the project because quality resources are not already available and have to be developed from scratch.

The program is focused on developing electronic content with excellence, promoting it and making it available online. It is also centred on training individuals to better operate this program to utilize it better on a larger scale such as in schools etc.

The Government of Punjab undertook this initiative to make knowledge and books widespread. Interesting games have also been developed that can be used as a tool to impart knowledge by being interactive in nature without boring its audience. A special favourite is a frog dissection simulation in which the student can use tools to operate on the body of the frog while simultaneously learning interesting facts about various species of frogs.

PITB understands the importance of education and how this top of the line education is for a new generation that possesses ideology and skill set. Hence, the only thing needed to fuel the student body to get the optimum output from them is to make information and resources as readily available as possible. PITB will continue to venture forward with similar initiatives.

Great initiative, but there are some technical issues. Users should still be able to use the app without granting location permission. Allow them to choose their city at the end. Also, users need the ability to select a city for complaints. Many have jobs in different locations but live elsewhere. This restriction creates frustration. Overall, the rest of the app works well for citizens. Please make these improvements.

The app won’t open. It shows a message saying to download the updated version. I downloaded it, but the app still doesn’t work.

It's great and useful. One update needed is adding more items since the current number is quite low. Also, a search box would really help us find what we want quickly.

The app displays a message about setting up Qeemat. It seems to indicate that the service might not be accessible outside the country. Your location settings are correct, so that shouldn’t be the problem. You may want to check if there are any restrictions based on your region.

I had a really frustrating experience with this app. My complaint didn’t get registered because it needed access I couldn’t provide at first. So, I decided to reinstall the app on my mobile. When I tried to register my new complaint, it asked for a picture. That’s where I got stuck. It required permission again, but after the reinstallation, I already granted all the necessary permissions. It just wouldn’t let me move forward. So annoying!

It sounds frustrating. You open the app, and it asks for an internet connection even though everything else works perfectly on your device. Something is definitely off here. Have you tried restarting the app or checking for updates? That might help solve the issue.

This app needs to work offline. It should save data locally on the device. Once Wi-Fi or internet is available, it will send the stored data to the server.

The app fails to function without access to your phone's photos and videos. This seems unnecessary since its main purpose revolves around fetching pricing information.
