Phantom Rose is an indie creation by solo developer and artist makaroll. Construct your card deck and make strategic choices as you explore, since each defeat could be permanent.

Obtain over 100 cards and powerful items by vanquishing phantoms and rescuing fellow maids in peril.

Combat does not rely on chance-based card draws. Instead, focus on managing your card cooldowns to swiftly and effectively conquer your adversaries.

Basic training
FIELD — designation of a row of five cards. Consists of three of your cards and two of your enemy's cards*. Filled with cards from the deck. Any of your cards on the FIELD can be replaced once with a card from the HAND. By pressing the button on the right, they are activated sequentially from left to right.
HAND — cards ready to be replaced on the FIELD. When replacing one card with another, each card is blocked. If there is no necessary card on the HAND, a SHIFTING is possible.
SHIFTING — replacing a card from the HAND with a card from the DECK. Can be done multiple times. Requires SOUL ROSES.
DECK — all of your cards that have not found a place either on the FIELD or in the HAND.
SOUL ROSES — a precious resource spent on many actions. Will be replenished after and/or during the battle.
Cards — determine your possible actions. Irrevocably spent upon use. Can be purchased, copied, or obtained by winning. Can be obtained through items or mysterious events.
Card level — a numeric value indicating the level of the card. Determines the base quantity, as well as the cost of purchasing and copying. Directly used in some calculations. Cards without a level are mostly reusable (imprinting a copy of themselves into the deck when used).
ATK — an indicator that determines the basic damage dealt by your attack cards. Can be increased for the duration of the battle by items, buff cards, or some effects. Can be permanently increased by mysterious events.
DEF — an indicator that determines the basic strength of barriers created by your defense cards. Can be increased on the battlefield by items, buff cards, or some effects. Can be permanently increased by mysterious events.
LCK — a luck indicator that determines the chance of activating related effects. Exceeding 100% gives a chance to activate them without fulfilling the necessary conditions. Can be increased on the battlefield by items or cards. Can be permanently increased by mysterious events.
HP is your health. Can be replenished on the battlefield by items, cards, or some effects. Can be permanently increased by items or mysterious events. If it drops to zero, Reyna will die.
Many cards impose effects.
Effects are divided into buffs and debuffs.
They usually have a duration*, which determines how many turns the imposed effect will last.
The effects of effects are dangerous, varied, and interesting!
Main debuffs
FEAR - at the end of the turn, deals damage equal to the sum of the durations of the buffs on the one who inflicted fear. Static buffs do not count. Damage does not depend on the amount of fear on the target. If there are no buffs on the one who inflicted fear, it is harmless. Damage from fear does not ignore the barrier.
BLEEDING - at the end of the turn, deals damage equal to twice the duration of bleeding. Two bleeds - four damage.
Damage from bleeding ignores the barrier.
POISON - at the end of the turn, deals three damage. Damage does not change depending on the duration of poisoning. Ignores the barrier.
PARALYSIS - reduces the duration of buffs by one at the end of each turn. Triggers after the buffs are activated.
SENSITIVITY - reduces the duration of buffs by one for each hit directed at the phantom.
DAZZLE - Only cast by Phantoms. Replaces a random card in your hand with WAIT.
Phantom Rose Scarlet Beginner Guide to Events
Events of the game appear as random events; when you walk across the grid map. Some events may give you rubies or some items, don't be disappointed; some are just there to mess with the players; we have listed events that matter below in our Phantom Rose Scarlet beginner guide.
Rose Garden: A set of rubies is protected by vines. Invites you to take a 50% chance of receiving 12 rubies in exchange for six rubies.
Cursed Spell Book: you come across a bookshelf, and searching through it, you will find a book. Opening the book might cause you damage or give you access to a new ability.
Verona: when you meet Verona, you can spend four rubies to have a 50% chance of receiving a premium gift such as a mana potion or fancy perfume.
Hunger and thirst: you feel excruciating pain, but you don't know why. Prompted to search for something to eat or drink, When you look for food, you get a Vampiric Brace card, and when you look for beverages, you get a Vampiric Fangs card.
Hidden Storage: When you spend ten rubies here, a random item will be awarded as a prize.
Luckless Thief Cirie: You can punish her or let her go when you meet her. If you punish her, you will get a backpack; if you let her go, you will get a Bunny charm.
