hideous control scheme

Transport Tycoon is a business simulation game where players can engage in online multiplayer games or play single-player matches against the computer.

Players can scroll the map using two fingers when constructing roads or stations, and can close dialogs by dragging them to the screen edge.

Note: There will be no Android version update this year due to the developer being conscripted into the Ukrainian army. If you are interested in becoming a maintainer of the app, please email the developer.

Gaming Experience

OpenTTD is the Android adaptation of the open-source 'remake' of the classic 1995 strategy and management game 'Transport Tycoon Deluxe'. In this game, you create a transportation network between different cities, aiming for the success of the network so that you can make a profit.

A typical game of OpenTTD takes place along a period of time that stretches from 1950 o 2050, meaning that you have one hundred years to score as many points as you can. This is achieved by having a good, constant stream of income, a large fleet of vehicles, and a large amount of goods delivered to their respective destinations.

Gaming Guide

In the beginning of the game, you can create highways and trucks to establish basic commercial routes that won't give you much in return. As you progress through the game, you'll be able to establish commercial maritime and aerial routes which normally provide you with a wider profit margin.

Of course, as the game advances and the years pass, technology also improves. So be on the lookout for new transportation technology as it arrives, as you want to be first in line to take advantage of any new innovations.

OpenTTD is one of the most famous free management games out there for a reason: it's excellent. The controls for this touchscreen version are a little more clunky than the PC version, but it does provide various control systems for tablets and phones of different sizes.

I came across this neat game from a friend not long ago. I've been having a blast playing it on my computer. The only bummer about this version is that it's not up-to-date. That means if you try to play with friends, there's a version mismatch problem and you won't be able to hop on the server together. I'm really hoping the developers can keep this version current with the latest updates.

This game is really fun and it's now available on mobile devices. It might be a bit tricky to play on the phone, but I found it works better on a tablet, especially if you use a pen. If you're new to the game, starting on a PC and checking out Openttd forums for tips and hints can make learning easier.

It's a game that's easy to understand but hard to fully control. You can change it to be exactly how you want with lots of extra choices. There are loads of packs and textures made by other players that you can easily get for free.

I'd say it's pretty good overall. The controls on mobile could be better, but that's mostly due to how they were implemented from OpenTTD. Other than that, everything else runs smoothly in the ported version.

Oh wow! Found this original transport tycoon game again after so long, just like that. Thank you! It's really nostalgic. You should rename it to Transport Tycoon, easier to find. I wouldn't have discovered it if I hadn't stumbled upon it.

A fantastic game where you get to be a transport tycoon. The controls are simple and it feels really rewarding. I wish they could lift the restriction on graphics because it hampers the enjoyment of this game.

Oh, this game? It's like 20 years old, but let me tell you, it's still top-notch! They brought it over from the computer to smaller screens, which can make it a bit tricky to move around and create stuff. But man, playing it is like taking a trip down memory lane for me. I absolutely adore it!

Oh, what a game! The developers did an incredible job bringing it over from PC. But, oh dear, the controls are just dreadful. When you're used to a mouse and keyboard, trying to navigate on this new system feels like such a burden. Still, I appreciate the effort the devs put into making it work. I'd give it a 4 out of 5. For those willing to be patient and take the time to get used to the tricky controls, I'd recommend giving it a try.
