Kamal found a fantastic app. It’s simple and lightweight. However, after Autumn 2024, it disappeared from the PlayStore for devices like the Nvidia Shield TV Pro running Android TV 11. Sideloading didn’t work either. The APK installed but wouldn’t launch. Kamal reached out to the developer, who claimed it was compatible. But that wasn’t the case after the latest official Shield Experience Upgrade v9.1.2. Now, Kamal has to use another launcher until there’s a fix.

You need a better file manager. Something with more features. The current app doesn't display all applications. Look for an option that offers multi-functionality. That will definitely help you manage your files more effectively.

Launching side-loaded apps on Android TV is straightforward. Start by navigating to the home screen. Look for the "Apps" section. If you don’t see your side-loaded app there, head to the "Settings." In "Settings," find "Device Preferences" or "Apps." From there, you can access "See all apps." This list may show your side-loaded apps. Select the app you want to open. For quicker access, create a shortcut. Use an app like "Sideload Launcher" to make side-loaded apps easier to find. Once installed, launch this app, and it lists all your side-loaded applications in one place. Launch as needed and enjoy!

This app is fantastic for my Sony X90J. It does exactly what I wanted and even lets me hide apps. I have a couple of suggestions for the developer to consider in future updates. First, it would be great to rearrange the apps. Second, getting rid of the large 'Launcher' text at the top right would look cleaner. Hiding the search button could be another option. Lastly, placing 'Settings' and 'About' in a minimalist 3-dot menu would keep things tidy. The developer did an excellent job. I'm happy to pay to support such great work. Thank you!
