FAQs:

1. **Q: Who can use the GFiber app? Can Webpass users use it? **

A: The app is only available to GFiber (Google Fiber) users and is not available to Webpass users. There are clear user restrictions.

2. **Q: How do I restart my router using the GFiber app? Is it difficult? **

A: Not difficult, the steps are very clear. After entering the app, first click "Network," then "Router Details," then click "Restart Router" and confirm. The restart process may take up to 5 minutes. Once the device has restarted and is connected to the network, the indicator light will turn a corresponding color (for example, a GFiber Wi-Fi 6e router will light up solid green).

3. **Q: What account do I need to log in to the GFiber app? What should I do if the login fails? **

A: You need to log in using the Google account you registered for GFiber service. After opening the app, you can select an existing account on your device or add a new one to log in. If login fails, you can find troubleshooting tools related to "Unable to Login" within the app or on the official support page. Follow the prompts (such as checking your account and password, or updating the app version) to resolve the issue.

4. **Q: Can I install the GFiber app if my phone's operating system is too low? **

A: It depends on the specific operating system version. For example, on iOS devices, the app requires at least iOS 17.0 or higher; on iPads, it requires iPadOS 17.0 or higher. Android devices also need to meet the corresponding operating system requirements; if the version is too low, the app may not install or function properly.

5. **Q: Besides routers, can I restart mesh extenders in the app? **

A: Yes. In the app, tap "Network," select "Manage Extenders," find the desired extender, tap "See Details," select "Restart Mesh Extender," and confirm. If the issue persists after rebooting, try again or contact customer service.

The redesign looks great. I like the network outage notices included. However, I've struggled with managing my bill and payments in the app for years. I keep getting a message that says, "Could not load billing page. Please ensure that you are connected to the internet." I can't recall when this issue began, but it’s always the same. Because of this, paying early isn’t an option like it is on the website. It doesn’t really make sense.

This app falls short for anything more complex. The port forwarding feature is frustrating. It lacks the necessary fields for incoming and destination ports, making setup impossible. Plus, I need to block incoming pings, but that option just isn’t available. It’s a real hassle.

Google Fiber came through for me. I needed a little extra time to pay my bill. They totally understood and gave me those extra days. My service stayed uninterrupted the whole time. Big thanks to Google Fiber!

Last update disappeared connected devices from the network. I have 15 devices linked and can't port forward. Manual additions aren’t working either. Reached out to customer support a month ago. They promised to escalate the issue, but no changes have happened.

It sounds like the 6e router lacks parental controls and features for adding filters. This can be challenging for managing internet access for kids or controlling content. You might consider different options. Looking into third-party solutions could help. Some devices offer extensive filtering and monitoring options. They can work alongside your router to enhance control features. Another idea involves checking if firmware updates are available for your router. Manufacturers sometimes introduce new capabilities through updates. If you're open to it, exploring a new router model with built-in parental controls may also be worthwhile. Many modern routers now come with robust features for managing internet usage.

The Google Fiber Family has been incredible over the past seven months. Even the construction crews, not directly part of Google, impressed me with their work. After years of dealing with frustrating processes for cable TV and internet, Google Fiber has changed everything for me. I can’t believe how fantastic it all is. The service and the people are top-notch. I'm truly grateful for the difference you’ve made in my life. My family and I are here to stay! Thank you for making things easier and better!

The guest network shows no options to edit or turn off. Device names just don’t appear, which makes it a challenge to recognize what belongs to whom. It requires some detective work to identify and rename them. It can get pretty frustrating!
