Ice fishing in frigid regions demands expertise and practice. You’ve already acquired the rod, drill, and transportation. The next step is to secure some bait. Visit the local shop to stock up on bloodworms, gammarus, whitebait, and maggots.
If you’ve made some money by catching perch and ruffe at the city lake, you can head to a different lake. Just make sure to purchase a license and set aside some funds for your journey.
When you reach the lake, you need to find a suitable spot. Rotate the view by swiping your finger across the screen from left to right, and tap the screen to advance.
Proceed with caution: avoid stepping on any holes and steer clear of areas with softened ice. Keep in mind that falling through the ice can be fatal.
After locating the ideal spot, drill a hole. Bait your hook and cast into the water while letting out some line. Remember that various fish species inhabit different depths, so adjust accordingly. Additionally, choose your bait wisely: Ruffe are attracted to bloodworms and maggots; Rudd and Crucian Carp prefer bloodworms; perch like gammarus, while larger perch, pike, and walleye tend to go after small fry.
To entice the fish, move the rod up and down, tilting your device as if it were an actual fishing rod, or swipe your finger across the screen.
As soon as you notice the bobber shift, promptly set the hook with a quick upward jerk. The speed at which you lift the rod will determine whether you successfully reel in the fish or miss it. Quickly pull the fish out of the water before it escapes – crank the fishing reel swiftly!
If you execute every step efficiently, the fish won’t stand a chance! Refresh your bait and continue fishing!
Keep in mind that different types of fish will bite in various ways: some raise the bobber, others nibble softly and subtly, while some may cause it to drop suddenly. Stay attentive to the bobber – who knows what might bite this time? Once you feel more experienced, you can turn off tooltips in the “Options” menu.
