Creating a Tumblr Account

Explore diverse content, connect with creators, and share your passions.
1.Open Tumblr:
On a computer:
Launch your favorite web browser and navigate to https://www.tumblr.com/. This will open the Tumblr website.
On a mobile device:
If you have the Tumblr app installed, simply tap its icon. The icon features a white “t” on a dark - blue background. In case you haven't downloaded the app, both iPhone users (via the App Store) and Android users (through the Google Play Store) can easily do so.
2.Locate and select the "Sign up" option.
You'll find it as a blue button positioned in the upper - right corner of the page.
3.Create your account by entering the required information.
Complete the subsequent fields:
Email - Input the email address you prefer. Since you'll need to verify this email later, ensure you can access it.
Password - Type in the password you've selected.
Alternatively, you can utilize services such as Google or Apple to establish a Tumblr account. Click on either option to proceed with using that particular account for registration.
4.Click the "Sign up" button, which is located at the bottom of the window.
If you are using a mobile device, tap "Next" in the top - right corner instead.
5.Input your age and then click “Next”.
Locate the text field in the middle of the page and type the number representing your current age into it.
6.Input a username and click "Next".
The username you choose will be the means by which others identify you on Tumblr, as it will form part of your Tumblr URL. Should the name you've selected already be taken, you'll have to come up with a different one and attempt the process again.
When using a mobile device, instead of clicking "Next" as on a desktop, tap the "Next" option located in the top - right corner of the screen.
Getting Acquainted with the Dashboard and Customizing Your Dashboard
Click on each icon to get familiar with the dashboard. Besides the menu of icons, you'll notice options such as For You, Trending, Staff Picks, and others. Each of these presents different content to you. The various icons are as follows:
The "Home" icon, which resembles a house, will direct you to your home feed. On the mobile app, this icon is situated in the bottom - left corner of your screen.
The "Discover" icon, looking like a compass, shows you recommended posts. In the mobile app, it appears as a magnifying glass, enabling you to search Tumblr for specific items. If you wish to modify the tags you're following, you can navigate here and click or tap "Follow" beside the tag.
The "Inbox" icon, shaped like an envelope, redirects you to your messages. This icon is not displayed in the mobile app.
The "Messaging" icon, featuring a chat bubble with a smiley face, drops down to open your chat messages.
The "Activity" icon, looking like a lightning bolt, drops down a menu, allowing you to view recent events over the past few days. In the mobile app, both Activity and Messaging functions are combined with the messaging icon. Tap this icon at the bottom of your screen to choose between viewing Activity or Messages.
The "Account" icon, which resembles a default profile icon, drops down to show the changes you can make to your profile. It's located in the lower - right corner of the mobile app.
The "New Post" icon, shaped like a pencil, allows you to create a new post. In the mobile app, this pencil icon is only visible in the lower - left corner of your screen when you're viewing the home feed or on your account page.
Input tags or interests you wish to follow into the search bar. When creating your account, you might have been prompted for some interests. However, you can enhance the customization of your dashboard by adding more. Type the keywords related to your interests in the search bar to generate search results.
During the search process, there's no need to include the "#" symbol. For instance, you could type "working cats" to obtain a list of blogs that have posts containing those keywords. Once you have the results, click on a hashtag to conduct a search specifically for that tag.
Click "Follow". You'll find this option on the right - hand side of the page, adjacent to a blog or a tag. When you follow tags and blogs, they will shape and customize the content that appears on your dashboard.
