With AirGuard, you gain the anti-stalking security you deserve!

The application continuously monitors your environment to identify trackers such as AirTags, Samsung SmartTags, or Google Find My Device trackers. Should a tracker be detected following you, an immediate notification will be sent to you.

These trackers are often about the size of a coin and can unfortunately be misused for covert tracking of individuals. Since each type of tracker operates differently, you would typically require several applications to identify unwanted tracking.

AirGuard merges the detection capabilities of different trackers into one user-friendly app, ensuring you remain protected effortlessly.

When a tracker is identified, you can make it emit a sound (for compatible models) or conduct a manual scan to find its location. If you locate a tracker, we suggest disabling it to stop any further tracking of your whereabouts.

The application retains location data solely on your device, enabling you to check where a tracker has followed you. Your information will never be shared with others.

If no trackers are present, the app functions quietly in the background without interrupting you.

How does the app function?

AirGuard utilizes Bluetooth technology to identify AirTags, Samsung SmartTags, and other tracking devices. All information is processed and stored locally on your device.

If a tracker is found in three or more distinct locations, you will receive a warning. You can modify the security settings to enable quicker alerts.

Who are we?

We are associated with the Technical University of Darmstadt. This initiative is part of the scientific research conducted by the Secure Mobile Networking Lab.

Our mission is to safeguard individuals' privacy and analyze the extent of tracker-based stalking issues.

You have the option to participate in an anonymous study voluntarily to assist us in understanding the use and proliferation of these trackers better.

This application will remain free of charge – it contains no advertisements or paid features. You will never incur any fees for using it.

The Invisible Leash You Never Knew Existed

AirGuard didn't just surprise me—it profoundly unsettled me before becoming indispensable. As someone who travels frequently, the theoretical fear of being tracked always felt abstract... until the app pinged me during a crowded subway commute. Seeing that crimson notification—"Suspected AirTag Moving With You"—triggered instant adrenaline. What followed wasn't panic, but methodical empowerment: the app mapped every location the tag had tailed me (three coffee shops and my gym), guided me to trigger its hidden speaker (revealing it wedged behind my bike’s saddlebag), and provided clear instructions to remove its battery. This wasn’t hypothetical privacy protection; it was concrete, lifesaving intervention.

Beyond crisis moments, its silent vigilance feels like wearing digital armor. The Bluetooth sweeps are ruthlessly efficient—catching a friend’s legitimate SmartTag in my bag within minutes—while maintaining near-zero battery drain. The local data processing is crucial; seeing my own movement maps stored onlyon-device fosters real trust. The academic rigor behind its development (TU Darmstadt’s involvement) elevates it above commercial alternatives—no vague algorithms or data monetization, just transparent, purpose-built defense. Participating in their anonymous study even adds meaning; you’re contributing to global safety research with every scan. In today’s world where coin-sized trackers enable unprecedented predation, AirGuard transforms paralyzing vulnerability into actionable control. It’s not an app—it’s a public service disguised as software.

Essential Privacy Queries Resolved:

Q: Does it drain battery with constant scanning?

Remarkably efficient. Background Bluetooth monitoring consumed less than 1.5% daily on my Pixel 7. Far less than music streaming.

Q: Can trackers evade detection?

Only briefly. AirGuard identifies behavioral patterns(e.g., moving with you across locations). A newly planted tracker may take ~30 mins to alert, but persistent trackers willtrigger.

Q: How accurate is the tracking map?

Pinpoint-precise. It logs GPS coordinates only when a tracker is nearby, revealing exact routes. Seeing your path mirrored by a stalker’s tag is chilling but invaluable evidence.

Q: Why trust this over brand apps (e.g., Apple’s detector)?

Comprehensive protection. Apple’s tool only finds AirTags. AirGuard detects Samsung, Tile, Chipolo, and unknown Find My Devices simultaneously—no juggling multiple apps.

Q: Is disabling a found tracker difficult?

Physically simple (remove battery/toggle switch), but emotionally taxing. AirGuard provides visual guides and rationale—disabling protects you legally versus discarding.

For seven years, the experience of being stalked has consumed my life. It feels like a shadow always lurking, no matter where I am. They attach air tags to my personal belongings, including my phone. Every move feels monitored. Law enforcement has been unresponsive. I've confronted some of them in public, exposing their actions, but it often falls on deaf ears. I’m determined to find a way to fight back and reclaim my life.

The app downloaded fine but it’s stuck on the initial setup screen. No response at all after trying to move past the permissions. I tried using Tracker Detect and managed to scan, but it still feels like a no-go. Seems like it’s not working for Samsung Ultra 22 users at all.

The alarm just stopped working. I checked the tag using the Apple app, and the sound was fine. After the latest updates, the app won’t even launch anymore. It seems like it’s not being updated at all. Definitely don’t install this one. Total dud!

It sounds like you've been through an incredibly scary situation. Your ex has shown alarming behavior. Slashing your tire in May was an act of violence. Following you to your best friend's house must have felt suffocating. The idea of him using a tracker is unsettling. Recently, tracking you to a restaurant crossed another line. That he attacked your friend afterward adds another layer of danger. Finding that AirTag with the app gave you a sense of control. It's a relief you discovered it before it could cause more harm. You're taking proactive steps to protect yourself, and that’s incredibly important. Stay safe!

You want to avoid any concerns about a tracker. The app gives you a choice regarding Low Energy Bluetooth. It seems a bit complicated. The message says using Low Energy Scan helps find nearby AirTags. But it also warns that if you don’t have it enabled, some devices might not show up at all. You need to decide whether to turn it on or keep it off. It sounds like enabling it is safer for discovering devices.

Text strings and UI elements are oversized on the Galaxy Fold. Some are even cut off completely. It’s surprising that foldables aren’t being tested in 2023. Users can't get past the onboarding screen without using multiwindow mode. OpenStreetMap lacks building layers in many areas, making mapping ineffective. Without structure outlines, finding relative positions of tags becomes a challenge. The app claims background location permission is optional but won’t let users move forward if it’s disabled. Frustrating experience all around.

Your iPhone is picking up those four AirTags you have on you. Each one belongs to a different account. It's been two weeks without any notifications. But when you get home, your phone goes wild. It seems like it can't handle all that information at once.
