FAQs:

1. **Q**: Can Free users view the sample and cover connections in their Spotify library?

**A**: No. Viewing music connections (such as samples and covers) for songs in the Spotify library is a Pro subscription-only feature. Free users cannot use this feature. They must pay $9.99 (or equivalent currency) per year to unlock this benefit.

2. **Q**: Do I need to be online to use WhoSampled to identify music playing nearby?

**A**: Yes. Music identification relies on a platform database match (retrieving information on over 1.195 million songs and 369,000 artists), and after identification, the corresponding sample and cover data must be loaded. This requires an internet connection and is unavailable when offline.

3. **Q**: Does the ad removal with a Pro subscription include ads embedded in third-party content like YouTube?

**A**: No. A Pro subscription only removes ads on WhoSampled's own platform. Ads embedded in third-party content, such as YouTube, are not affected by the Pro subscription and will continue to display normally.

4. **Q**: If I discover incorrect sampling information for a song on the platform, can I report it and request a correction?

**A**: Yes. You can use the in-app community interaction feature to comment on the incorrect sampling information and explain the issue. You can also contact the platform's customer service and provide the correct information and relevant supporting evidence (such as official creative interviews, music production documents, etc.). The platform will verify and update the content based on your feedback.

5. **Q**: Can free users share discovered sampling and cover information on social media?

**A**: Yes. Sharing is a basic platform feature that applies to both free and Pro users. Free users can also share song sampling, cover associations, and other content they find with others on social media.

6. **Q**: Does WhoSampled support viewing sampling or cover information for classical music?

**A**: Yes. The platform's database covers the entire classical music genre. Whether it's sampling classical music from other genres or cover versions of classical music, as long as relevant records exist, users (both free and Pro) can search and retrieve the corresponding information.

This app excels at uncovering music you haven't discovered yet. The only hiccup happens right when you launch it. It would be fantastic to see the name "whosampled" first before getting directed to the search. That advertisement can be a bit distracting initially.

The premium version is not functional. It’s a waste of money. Support knows it doesn’t work and directed me to request a refund from the Play Store. The Play Store said no refunds for an app that the developers admit is broken. Just use the free version. You’ll end up spending extra and still have to look things up manually like you would in the free version.

I tried to find three different tracks using this app on an old iPhone. I played the recordings into Spotify and hoped to identify what I had. The app didn't help at all. It felt like it just wanted my money. Total waste of time. Shazam does a much better job, and it's free.

This system is exciting! It helps track samples and remixes throughout music history. It's like a lifeline for those original, catchy tracks that influenced so many artists. Imagine discovering the roots of a famous song and appreciating its journey. No more worries about losing those gems hidden in time!

It’s frustrating. The need for a paid subscription just to identify samples feels unfair. Many people contributed to the WhoSampled database, sharing their knowledge and passion. Now it seems like greed overshadowed that community spirit. It’s disappointing to see a great project turned into something exclusive.

The experience has its ups and downs. The accuracy isn’t always spot on. Most of the information is trustworthy, yet some songs I know that feature samples lack details. A few others have wrong info too. On the bright side, it’s entertaining. Discovering and comparing a song with its sample adds a fun twist.
