SongbookPro eliminates the inconvenience of managing and carrying your chord charts, lyric sheets, and songbooks by offering a user-friendly application for your laptop or tablet.

This excellent tool is ideal for guitarists, bassists, vocalists, or anyone who utilizes chord charts, lyrics, sheet music, or bulky song collections. SongbookPro effectively allows you to replace all that paper with a versatile and easily readable display of your music.

The app includes several features:

- Consolidation of all your songs into a single comprehensive digital songbook

- Clear and concise display of chords and lyrics for effortless performance

- Full support for PDF files for those who prefer sheet music

- Organizing songs into sets for smooth transitions during live performances

- Quick adjustments for key changes and capo settings

- Ability to import songs in ChordPro or onsong formats, as PDFs, or directly from various sources

- Easy sharing of songs and sets among users of SongbookPro

- Synchronization and sharing capabilities across different platforms, supported by apps for various operating systems.

It’s important to mention that while SongbookPro can be tried for free, there is a limitation of 12 songs in your library, and online synchronization will be unavailable until the full version is purchased through a minor in-app transaction.

SongbookPro Update - Summer 2025

Over the last few months we’ve been focused on improvements to the SongbookPro app, culminating with the release of version 25.0. Our current momentum with adding improvements to the app is showing no signs of slowing down and it is looking likely we’ll be releasing a second major update later this year.

SongbookPro 25.0

The big feature we added to SongbookPro 25.0 is the ability to scan songs in using your device’s camera. This is a much requested feature and we’re excited to finally be able to offer it to our users. To use this feature, open the ‘All Songs’ menu and tap the ’+’ button at the bottom of the menu. You’ll then be presented with a choice of import options.

We’ve also released improved methods for copying songs between your local library and SongbookPro Groups libraries as well as a range of behind the scenes improvements. The backup and restore system should now be able to handle substantially larger libraries and restore operations should be faster too.

For a full list of changes, please see the release notes.

SongbookPro Groups improvements

SongbookPro Groups has also seen a number of improvements over the past few months. One major area of focus has been the user interface for adding songs to a set. This has been completely reworked to make it easier to use and now supports a range of keyboard shortcuts to speed up the interactions.

The account menu has also been improved to make navigating and changing organization simpler.

SongbookPro Groups Update - Spring 2025

Here is a little product update for SongbookPro Groups - our web-based service for managing a shared music library for your band or music group. Over the last few months since the service went live we’ve been busy working on a number of new features, here are the highlights!

Our new shiny web interface

The web interface SongbookPro Groups had at launch was fully functional, but not the most intuitive or user-friendly. We’ve now reworked it to make it easier to get started with and simpler to user. Common actions should now take fewer clicks and we have a new dashboard view that gives you quick access to your songs and sets.

We have some more improvements planned for the coming months, but please give it a try and let us know what you think!

New video tutorials

To simplify the process of setting up SongbookPro Groups (and helping other band members to create their account and join your organization), we’ve created two video tutorials to help you get started. The first one covers the process of creating a SongbookPro Groups organization and inviting other members to join, while the second video shows how you can accept a SongbookPro Groups invite and connect it to the SongbookPro app.

Feel free to share these videos with your friends and band members to help them get started with SongbookPro Groups!

This app stands out for real musicians! It offers transposition, chord diagrams, and multiple instruments right off the bat. The inclusion of string instrument diagrams is fantastic. Just one wish for piano chord diagrams! The community submitted songs page adds so much value. Overall, this app shines! I highly recommend it to fellow musicians I play with. Best experience on a tablet, but a phone works great too for beginners!

This app does an amazing job of organizing songs and is perfect for live performances. It really enhances the experience. I initially thought it needed a separate purchase for each device, which seemed unfair. It should be linked to your account instead. But I realized that it syncs across all Android devices! Super convenient. It definitely deserves five stars! Such a great app!

Getting used to a new songbook app has been tough. If my favorite app worked on Apple, I wouldn’t have made the switch. SONGBOOK-PRO seems good and meets most of my needs, at least I hope so. The manual lacks clarity, making it hard to figure things out. I reached out to SONGBOOK-PRO several times for help with setup and operation, but no one replied. After many hours of trial and error, I finally succeeded. Still, this entire experience left me feeling very disappointed.

This app truly matches my needs. I already used ChordPro formatting for PDF charts, so switching was seamless. Adjusting the settings to show chords in a larger font works perfectly on my small tablet. The auto-scroll feature adds convenience, yet I believe a Bluetooth page-turner would enhance the experience, and this app supports that too! It would be great to send a MIDI message for paging, but overall, it’s definitely a five-star app, even with my minor requests.

This app is amazing! Gone are the days of paper mess everywhere. I love how it pulls songs from the internet, even though sometimes the chords differ from Ultimate Guitar. It's a bit puzzling. The best upgrade was adding a Bluetooth foot switch to flip through songs. Those old-timers laughed at me for using it until they saw my awesome setup. Who’s laughing now? LOL! I can joke about it; I'm not super young, just new to music. Huge thanks to the SBP App team! Great job!

I tried the app and immediately bought it for myself and my girlfriend. The app is nice and works well. It would definitely improve with features like smart scroll or timed scroll. Pinch to zoom feels very difficult; it requires a perfect horizontal motion to work properly. I also noticed that the demo song and getting started manuals include religious topics, which I don't appreciate. A more neutral approach would be better.

SongBookPro used to be a solid app, affordable and effective. Now, with chord diagrams for guitars and ukuleles, it has transformed into something great. A few more updates could easily push it to fantastic status, erasing the need for physical song-chord charts and bulky binders. I play with a ukulele group and a guitar group, plus some solo jamming. The SETs feature makes grouping songs together effortless. Editing any chart through the SongBookPro Manager on my PC feels convenient. Backing up and sharing songs with others is straightforward. The documentation lacks depth, and the editing process can be a bit tricky at first. With some practice, I managed to transfer five three-ring binders’ worth of songs onto my tablet, ditching the paper for good. The auto-scroll function posed a challenge initially. Timing how long it takes to play a song helped me set that as the scroll rate, making it much smoother. I appreciate many aspects of this app. The metronome, instant key changes, note-taking on charts, tab entry, and various other features make it stand out. Once they integrate some ChordPro Format Directives into the song-chord charts, this app will leap to an even higher level.

This app only imports PDFs. Users of UltimateGuitar or similar chord/tab/lyric apps looking to save chord charts offline should explore other options. The $6 price doesn’t match the value here. But there's a workaround. Use your phone’s notepad, usually pre-installed, or download a free one if necessary. Open the Ultimate Guitar app, tap the three dots in the upper right corner, select "open with...", and choose your notepad. It will copy and paste the entire Ultimate Guitar page effortlessly.

This app shines! As a performer, I can take all my songs with me wherever I go. As a songwriter, entering my original music feels seamless and straightforward. You can tell that the developers understood the needs of musicians. A great combination of engineering and musical insight went into this creation. Sure, there’s a tiny learning curve, but it’s nothing too difficult to tackle. For performers and songwriters, this app stands out from the rest. Rearranging songs is a breeze compared to other options out there. A real winner!

SongbookPro has really impressed me. Before I discovered SBP, I struggled with printing songs from Ultimate Guitar. It was such a hassle! A few friends of mine were using OnSong, but they recommended SBP since I have an Android phone. Now, they're starting to switch to Songbook too, enjoying its features and finding the annual fee for the Apple app a bit much. What I love about SongbookPro is the flexible importing options. Editing songs is so easy, creating set lists feels seamless, and sharing music with others is a breeze. Overall, it’s been a fantastic tool for managing my music.
