Frequently asked questions

What words are allowed in the game?

The game allows words that can be found in any spelling dictionary, Polish, correct Polish, or foreign words in their correct basic (dictionary) form. Proper names, abbreviations, and words containing a character that is not a letter are not allowed. Detailed rules for the acceptability of words are available here , and a complete list of words here , with the proviso that the game only allows the basic form.

How are points counted in the game?

The game counts points for each found word consisting of at least three letters, but the most points can be obtained when the found word consists of a large number of letters. The number of points for each word is counted according to the formula: (number of letters - 2) squared. For example: a word consisting of 3 letters is worth 1 point, a word of 5 letters is worth 9 points, and a word of 10 letters is worth 64 points.

Can I use the same letter twice when making a word?

No. When putting a word together on the board, each of the sixteen letters can be used only once.

Can you put together a word using letters that are not adjacent to each other?

Theoretically, this is possible, but only if the same word can be put together from adjacent letters somewhere on the board.

Is there a fee for using the Słowotok game?

No. Currently, using the Słowotok word game is completely free. However, we cannot rule out introducing additional, paid functionalities to the game in the future.

Does the Słowotok game work on touchscreen devices?

Yes, we try to make the www version of the Słowotok word game available on as many devices as possible. Additionally, Słowotok has dedicated applications for Android, Windows Phone, iPhone and iPad devices. More information about mobile applications can be found here.

What does the number in the circle on the results list mean?

The number in the circle is the user's level of advancement. The user's level depends on the time spent playing and the results achieved in the game.

What is the user level?

The user's level indicates their experience in the game, or more precisely, the total number of points they have earned. At the beginning of the game, moving to the next level requires gaining 1000 points, but at subsequent stages, the required number of points to move to the next level increases.

What does the asterisk on the results list mean?

Users with PRO accounts are marked with an asterisk on the results list.

What is a PRO account?

Currently, each account in the system is a PRO account. In the future, we do not rule out separating accounts into free and PRO versions and providing PRO account owners with additional functionalities as part of a paid subscription. Of course, before any fees are introduced, all PRO accounts will be converted to free accounts.

What is an anonymous account?

An anonymous account is created automatically for each mobile device on which the game is launched. Thanks to this solution, everyone can familiarize themselves with the game without having to create an individual player account. Unfortunately, player statistics are not collected for anonymous accounts, and it is also impossible to change the username and player image. In the future, we do not rule out introducing a daily gaming limit for anonymous accounts.

Why is the word ... not in the dictionary?

First, check whether a mistake (typo) was made when selecting the word, which unfortunately happens very often. Then, you can check in the dictionary at sjp.pl whether the word exists there and whether it is not a declension of another word. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the application dictionary will contain 100% of all possible words.

Why is the word ... in the dictionary?

We invite you to visit the dictionary at sjp.pl, where you can find definitions for most words used in the game. It also often happens that a word that is a declension (which should not be in the game) also has a second meaning, for which it is the basic word. For example, the word "była" is a declension of the word "były", but colloquially it also means a former life partner, and in this case it is the basic form.
