USING GUIDE

Railcard is a new app for Android that allows you to get discounts on train fares. It offers discounts of up to ⅓ off the standard fare and is available for both adults and children. It can be used for travel by train on the UK's national rail network, the TransPennine Express, the North London Railway, the East Midlands Railway, the West Midlands Railway, the London Underground, and many other train services in the UK.

To get the discount, simply purchase the Railcard and add it to your phone. This can be done online, through the app, or by visiting a Railcard store. It is compatible with most smartphones.

Uploading new railcards and entering information hasn't been a problem for me. The app is handy because I can always have it ready to show when purchasing tickets, and I can store multiple railcards if I have them. It doesn't offer any additional features compared to the paper version, but I chose to go digital because it's quicker to manage online.

I was so frustrated trying to transfer my railcard to my new phone after my old phone stopped working. The app kept sending a code, but my old phone, with a broken display, couldn't show it to me. I couldn't get the code by email either, and the whole process took hours. It felt like reaching out for help was futile.

I called Railcard because I couldn't add my card to my new phone. They were amazing - so nice and really helpful. And guess what? They fixed the problem!

I couldn't travel much due to frequent rail strikes.

I love this app! It gives me awesome discounts on my train tickets. If you subscribe for a year, you can even redeem Tesco vouchers and they are worth twice their original value. 😊😊

Great deal! If you can use trains to travel, this is a fantastic option for you. You can get a 33% discount if you qualify.

It seems like the people who designed this system don't actually use it themselves. I almost gave up after trying four times. The calendar selection was terrible, I had to keep taking photos and remember my driving license number. Then I had to log in again and start over, only to end up on a blank payment page. In the end, I had to do it on the computer, which was annoying because it was difficult to add a photo. It took a while before I could even add the railcard because I kept getting a generic error message saying 'oops'. I eventually fixed it by updating without being prompted. It was only slightly better than paying more.

Using the network railcard is super easy. The fare cost gets a nice discount, making it more affordable. As long as the prices stay reasonable for me, I will keep on using it for sure.

So, when you get a new phone, remember to check if it's working. If you transfer stuff from your old phone, don't forget that you might have to log in again to some accounts. I had a little run-in with the ticket inspector on the train because I forgot my password. Luckily, my station showed up, and I could leave!
