Usage FAQs

Which file formats do you accept for your software and online editor?

We accept images in JPEG / JPG or PNG and sRGB/RGB color profile. If you have a third party file (PDF, HEIC, BMP, Powerpoint, etc), please convert them into JPEG to be able to upload them onto our design platforms.

Is there a limit to the images/resolution size?

Yes there is, do keep images sizes below 50 megapixels and each sides (width and height) should be below 20000 pixels. For low resolution photos, the software will prompt a warning when such a photo is used. The photo will still be printed if you choose to proceed, though not at the highest quality.

Why is my online project not reflected in the mobile app?

Photobook has 2 platforms, Computers (Online Editor from website and Photobook Designer Software) and Smartphones (Photobook App). As both projects from a computer and smartphone are from different platforms, the projects are not synced between platforms.

General FAQs

Print Size And Resolution For Photos

The resolution of a photo is the number of pixels per inch (ppi). To work out the number of pixels a photo should have, multiply the physical dimension in inches by the desired image resolution.

For optimal quality, use an image resolution of 300 ppi.

For printing on a personal used, 150 ppi is good enough.

The higher the resolution of the photo, the greater the file size. Compression can reduce the size of the file, but it also affects the quality of the photo, which may produce undesirable results when printed. If your photo inserted into the design doesn't meet our recommended resolutions, a warning will appear on the photo used.

This is to help prevent dissatisfaction due to ordering something that may not print well. The warning means that it may look alright on screen, but may not print well. If you see it, it is still best to use a different photo, or make it smaller in the design until the warning disappears.

Please do note that while our system is able to check for resolution however not able to check for quality/clarity/focus/composition of the photo. For example, if your original photo file is already blurred due to the subject being out of focus when the photo was taken, or due to too much zoom being used, these are some of the examples that our system would not be able to detect, hence we recommend performing your own checking before uploading the photo file.

Can we add customise notes on the packaging such as birthday or anniversary wishes?

Unfortunately, it is not possible however, you may customize the special notes in the product before placing your order. 

Caring for your Photobooks

1. To prevent fading of the images and cover materials we recommend storing your Photobooks in an area away from direct sunlight, ideally in one of our Presentation Boxes or Slipcases (available for certain sizes/products) for optimal protection from light, dust, and environmental factors. We do not recommend storing your Photobooks in an area where it may be subjected to extreme heat, humidity, or any contact with moisture. 

2. Photobooks should always be stored flat rather than vertically due to the weight of the thick pages which will stress the binding if stored incorrectly. When viewing your Photobook always support the binding by resting the back cover on a clean surface. Never suspend your album by its cover as the weight of the album may damage the binding.
