What Is Peridot? Current App Status for New Users

Peridot is Niantic Spatial’s real-world AR pet game where every creature, called a Dot, is one-of-a-kind. You play as a Keeper who hatches, feeds, plays with, and raises a Dot in augmented reality, with the Dot exploring your real surroundings through your phone camera. Peridot gameplay is played primarily in AR, so stay aware of stairs, roads, and nearby obstacles while playing.

Important current status: the Peridot mobile app is being wound down. Niantic Spatial disabled in-app purchases on April 23, 2026, removed Peridot from the App Store and Google Play on May 14, 2026, and will close Peridot mobile servers on August 31, 2026. If you already have Peridot installed, you can keep playing until the servers close. If you delete the app or switch devices after the store removal, you may not be able to reinstall it.

Peridot Mobile Care Guide: How to Raise Your Dot Before Servers Close

Use these Peridot mobile tips if the app is still installed on your device.

Forage first

Draw a circle on the ground in the AR view. Your Dot retrieves food and toys. Forage before feeding or playing so you always have supplies.

Keep the Hunger meter full

Open your bag, pick food, swipe to toss it to your Dot. Feeding Dewdrops significantly fills the Hunger meter. A full Hunger meter keeps your Dot happy and supports faster growth.

Keep the Attention meter full

Play Fetch, pet your Dot, or teach Tricks. Feeding Dotnip significantly fills the Attention meter. Alternate feeding and play so neither meter drops.

Fulfill Desires

Desires are your Dot’s requests. Completing them builds your bond and growth. Check the home screen regularly because open Desire slots refresh over time.

Grow from hatchling to adult

Growth comes from feeding, playing, and fulfilling Desires. Keep both meters healthy to raise your Dot quickly. Adult Dots can breed and pass traits to new Dots.

Use your remaining items now

Because Peridot mobile in-app purchases are disabled, spend remaining in-game currency and items before August 31, 2026. Past purchases are not refunded except where required by law.

Save your memories

Before servers close, save Dot Cards, screenshots, and videos. Niantic Spatial encourages keepers to preserve their favorite moments with their Dots.

Peridot FAQ: Mobile Shutdown, Login, Friends & Support

1、Is Peridot still downloadable?

No new downloads from the App Store or Google Play after May 14, 2026. Already installed Peridot mobile apps can be played until server closure on August 31, 2026.

2、Will I get a refund for past purchases?

Generally no. Players will not receive refunds on past purchases except where otherwise required by law. You can still use remaining in-game currency and items until shutdown.

3、What happens to my Dots?

After mobile servers close, you can no longer access your Dots in the Peridot mobile app. Save Dot Cards, photos, and videos beforehand. Niantic Spatial says it is exploring ways for creatures to carry forward into future Peridot experiences, but nothing is officially announced.

4、Can I still log in to Peridot mobile?

Peridot mobile uses login information associated with Peridot, Ingress, and Scaniverse. Logins from Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now, Pikmin Bloom, and Campfire are no longer supported. Niantic Kids is not supported after the transition, so connect another login method if you are over the age of digital consent.

5、Are my Peridot friends gone?

Existing Peridot friends stay connected. You can no longer auto-import contacts from your device. To add new friends, do it one-by-one.
