When your Dot strikes a particularly cute pose, take pictures and videos to showcase to your friends.

COLLABORATE with your friends and other players to breed your Dots together, resulting in entirely new genetically distinct Dots. With the user's consent, Adventure Sync utilizes location data to allow players to accumulate walking distance even when the app is not active.

Notes:

• Peridot is tailored for high-end smartphones; tablets are not supported. Device compatibility may vary and can be updated at any time. Details on supported devices can be found through your platform's help resources.

• Peridot prioritizes augmented reality and requires permission to access your smartphone’s camera during gameplay for interactive experiences with your creature in the real world.

• Prolonged use of GPS or camera features in the background could considerably impact battery performance.

• It is advisable to play while connected to a network to ensure precise location tracking.

How To Add Friends

Connect with your friends and build new friendships with other Keepers that you meet during your journey. You can send Keepers that you are friends with gifts, see or share their current Dot, and even Hatch-a-Dot with them. 

Adding friends will enable you to see your friend's information. Also, your friend(s) will see some information about you, including your Keeper Name.

Visit our Help Center article "What Can My Friends See About Me"  to learn more about the information you share with your friends in Peridot.  

Keepers can view and accept or deny friend requests through their friends list. If they accept your request, you will become friends with one another and you’ll be able to see their profile through your friends list. Friend requests expire after 7 days. Adding a friend in one game will add them to other Niantic games or apps you both play. 

There are a few ways to add friends: by using friend codes or by adding someone directly from the Dot details page. 

To Add Friends using friend codes: 

From the main screen, tap your Backpack

Tap Dots & Friends

Select the Friends tab

Tap Add Friends

Use your 9 digit code or input someone else’s to send and receive friend requests. If you already have friends in other Niantic apps who also play Peridot, they will appear in your Friend List in Peridot.

To Add Friends from the Dot details page: 

From the main screen, tap on nearby Dots or visit a Habitat.

Tap on the Dot of a person you want to become friends with. 

Tap on their Niantic ID, underneath their Dot's name. 

Note: If their Niantic ID is not tappable it means that they have opted out of allowing friend requests this way. 

To Remove Friends:

You can remove a friend from your friends list at any time. The person that you’ve unfriended will not be notified. If you decide that you no longer want a friend to see this information about you through their Friend List, you may simply remove them. Keep in mind that removing a friend in one game will remove them from other games as well.

From the main screen, tap your backpack

Tap Dots & Friends

Select the Friends tab

Tap on a friend and scroll down

Select Remove Friend

Troubleshooting Guide (Android)

Please try completing the troubleshooting steps below in the order presented.

Ensure your Peridot app is up to date

Peridot works best when using the newest version of the app. If you’re experiencing an issue with an older version of the app, please update your Peridot app and see if this fixes the problem for you.

Open the Google Play Store app.

On the top left, tap the Menu button.

Tap the My apps & games menu option.

Navigate to the Peridot app and tap the Update button.

Check your internet connection

Ensure your device is connected to a reliable data connection (Wifi, 3G, 4G, or 5G). Try switching internet sources: if you have trouble connecting to Wifi, try to connect using 3G, 4G, or 5G. If you have trouble connecting to 3G, 4G, or 5G, try to connect using Wifi.

Clear your Peridot app data and cache

By clearing app data and cache, you may be able to resolve temporary issues affecting Peridot. Please note that doing this while logged in as a Guest may make you lose your progress. Please note that the following steps may vary depending on your device.

Open the Settings app on your device.

Tap Storage > Apps.

Select the Peridot app.

Tap Clear Data and then Clear Cache.

Check your device’s background data restrictions

Ensure that your phone has not restricted background data access to Google Play Services and Google Play Store. Learn how to turn on background data.

Uninstall and reinstall Peridot

Delete the Peridot app and reinstall the latest official version from the Google Play Store. As long as you have authenticated and are not playing as a guest, your game progress will not be lost by performing these steps, as all game progress is stored online.

Reconnect Google’s access to Peridot (Google accounts only)

You may be able to resolve login issues by refreshing Google’s connection to Peridot. Your game progress will not be lost by performing these steps.

Visit the Google connected apps settings page and select Peridot from the list of connected apps.

Tap the Remove button to disconnect Peridot from your Google account.

To reconnect your Google account, log into Peridot as you normally would. Open Peridot on your phone and log in using your Google account.

Remove your Google account from your device (Google accounts only)

If all other steps do not resolve your issue, try removing and adding your Google account to your device.

When you remove the account, your email, contacts, settings, and other information associated with the account is removed from your local storage until you add the account back to your device. Be sure that you complete these steps with adequate time to allow for your account data to download.

Remove the email account from your device:

Open the Settings app on your device.

Tap the Accounts menu option.

Tap Google from the list of accounts. If you have multiple Google accounts, select the Google account you used to log into Peridot.

Tap the three dots menu at the top of the screen, and then tap Remove account.

Add the account back to your device:

Open the Settings app on your device.

Tap the Accounts menu option.

Tap Add Account.

Select Google from the list of account types.

Follow the prompts to complete this process.
