Introduction:

The PLO page of Laeger.dk is primarily aimed at Danish medical practitioners, providing professional drug information and prescription management services. The website focuses on the "PLO" (Professional Drug Advisor) section, emphasizing the support of rational drug use through scientific data to help doctors optimize prescription decisions. The core content includes: the latest drug guidelines, interaction query tools, dosage calculation models, and adverse reaction reporting systems, covering major therapeutic areas such as antibiotics and cardiovascular drugs. The page has an interactive database, allowing users to search for drugs by indication or active ingredient and obtain detailed EMA (European Medicines Agency)-certified package inserts. In addition, the platform provides continuing medical education (CME) resources, such as case studies on medication safety and updates on industry trends, aiming to enhance the professional literacy of medical personnel. The overall design focuses on information authority and operational convenience, making it suitable for clinicians to quickly access evidence-based medication information.

 Following features:

- Information about your GP: View their address, contact details, hours of operation, and substitutes during holidays. You have the option to call the clinic directly through the app.

- Access to the doctor's call services: Reach out to the regional doctor's call line (available for urgent matters outside your GP's working hours).

- Video consultations: Conduct video meetings with your general practitioner from locations such as your home.

- E-consultations: Pose questions and receive responses from your general practitioner by submitting an e-consultation.

- Appointment scheduling: Arrange or cancel appointments with your general practitioner, which may include video consultations.

- Overview of appointments: Keep track of both upcoming and past appointments within the healthcare system.

- Medications: Review your current and prior medications while requesting prescription renewals.

- Test results: Check results for certain medical tests.

- Vaccination records: Access vaccination information for yourself and your children.

- Referrals: Review existing and past referrals from your general practitioner, and find the appropriate therapist if you wish to book a consultation with a specialist.

- Diagnoses and care plans: Inspect any diagnoses and care plans you have. If you're managing type 2 diabetes, there's an option to test and estimate your blood sugar levels.

- Health information for your children: Access data related to your children's e-consultations, appointments, vaccinations, and medications.

- Surveys: Complete questionnaires. For instance, pregnant individuals can fill out a questionnaire prior to their first pregnancy check-up with their GP.

- Benefit notifications: Learn more about your interactions with your general practitioner.

Value-Added Services and Industry Resources

Continuing Medical Education (CME): Regularly publishes learning materials such as medication safety case studies and new drug clinical trial interpretations. Some contents are eligible for continuing education credits certified by the Danish Medical Association.

Industry Trends Section: Summarizes adjustments to Danish drug reimbursement policies, updates to the medical insurance catalog, and cutting-edge research in the pharmaceutical industry to help practitioners keep abreast of policy changes.

Mobile Adaptation: Supports quick query on mobile devices, and prescription suggestions can be exported as PDFs with one click for real-time reference in clinical work.

Design Logic and User Experience

The website adopts the common blue-and-white color scheme in the medical industry, with a simple and professional interface: the top navigation bar is divided into core sections such as "Drug Query", "Interactions", and "CME Resources", while the sidebar provides quick filtering conditions (e.g., administration route, pregnancy category). Data is displayed through a combination of tables and charts, such as "pharmacokinetic parameter comparison charts" and "medication frequency statistics for different indications", to enhance information readability. In addition, localized term explanations are provided for Danish users to ensure that non-native practitioners can accurately understand drug information.

Industry Value and Application Scenarios

In the Danish healthcare system, the PLO platform serves as a standard medication reference tool for primary care clinics and hospital pharmacies. For example: when family doctors issue multiple medication prescriptions for elderly patients, they can verify drug interactions through the platform; emergency doctors can quickly retrieve poisoning treatment guidelines when handling drug overdose cases; pharmacists can use the dosage calculator to optimize medication regimens for special populations during prescription review. Its authority has made it a core infrastructure for drug management in Denmark's medical digital transformation.

VIDEO CONSULTATIONS

A key aspect of the app is the ability to have video consultations, letting you discuss matters with your doctor via video from the comfort of your home. To initiate a video consultation, you need to schedule an appointment with your doctor. During the booking process, you can request that the consultation be conducted via video. However, it's important to note that the doctor will determine if an in-person visit is necessary for the medical evaluation.

MEDICATION

This app also provides the option to view the medications taken by you and your children, alongside the capability to request renewals for those prescriptions.

VIEW YOUR TEST RESULTS

Additionally, in the Min Læge app, you can access the results of a broad range of tests, including blood tests.

News and Updates

The website keeps users informed with the latest news and updates relevant to general practice. For example, it covers important topics such as:

It provides information about the implementation of the health reform. Heading towards 2027, the 'Aftale om sundhedsreform 2024' (2024 Health Reform Agreement) is being rolled out. Visitors can follow announcements from PLO regarding elements related to general practice here.

Participation in Folkemødet

PLO was again involved in Folkemødet this year. From June 12th to 14th, the president, vice-president, and two board members participated in a series of debates on health policy and primary healthcare.

Users can download the latest reports from PLO Analyse, read political discussions, and delve into various facts about general practice.

The app is good and easy to navigate. However, there's an issue. I can't open a PDF sent to me on Android from my inbox. It works fine on an Apple device.

The design looks great and it's fine to use until you reach the inbox. You can't select multiple messages at once, so you have to read or delete each one individually. Frustratingly, the app jumps back to the top even if you've scrolled down to an unread message. It's annoying since those "unread" messages are just old ones from a doctor I read years ago. A user test could really help uncover such a simple issue.

The NemID app keeps logging out. It’s frustrating. Each time it restarts, the process begins anew. You enter your details, and then nothing. Just a loop of trying again. So aggravating!

Struggling to log in. The app starts the login process. I enter the nemid key. Then I see a message asking me to wait. No progress happens after that. Frustrating situation.

The attempt is decent. In a GP or health clinic where multiple GPs are available, you can't indicate a preferred GP. It would be great to have that option. Seeing your GP's entire record and history would also be beneficial. Legal issues might make this challenging. If there aren't any legal hurdles, then providing this option should happen quickly.

Accessing the app feels like a challenge. Too many wrong attempts lead to it finally working, but only after several tries. Even when it's set to English, issues pop up. There’s no option to switch languages easily, and it really needs its own icon for that. Notifications sent to addresses don't show up clearly in the app. They should catch your eye right away, yet you’re left hunting for them. You only come across old messages instead. It's so frustrating. Everything feels scattered and disorganized.

The app was fantastic at first. Now, logging in isn’t possible. A QR code from the MIT ID app is needed for access. Scanning that code? Not happening. Frustration level? High.

Great app, but it lacks an important feature: ordering medication.

It's frustrating when you can't access information in a language you understand. Everything is in Danish, and there's no way to translate or even copy the text for translation. It limits your ability to grasp the content fully.

The app is generally good. I really like it for keeping track of my appointments. Recently, I had some trouble with the login. Since then, the appointments for home care and cleaning have disappeared.
