An accompanying application for the board game Journeys in Middle-earth created by Fantasy Flight Games.
Set forth on your own quests within J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendary realm with The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth, a fully cooperative board game designed for one to five participants! Throughout each session, heroes must unite on a challenging journey to confront formidable enemies, uncover hidden treasures, reveal ancient knowledge, and refine their abilities based on their designated roles in the Fellowship.
This companion application manages the arrangement of each encounter, monitors your group's inventory and skills, and facilitates combat as you navigate the shadowy forests, serene clearings, and historic halls of Middle-earth.
【《Middle-earth Electronic Nanny: My Blood and Tears of Being a Hobbit Network Administrator in Tabletop Games》】
When my iPad crashed for the 13th time when the Balrog appeared and the entire team's save files were destroyed, I suddenly realized that this was not a supporting application, but a mind polluter developed by Sauron, the same as the Ringwraiths! As a Middle-earth veteran who grew up with the original "Lord of the Rings", I tremblingly clicked on the "Fellowship of the Ring" mode, but the skill tree assigned to Sam by the system turned out to be "Top Cooking + Blame Defense", and my elf prince Legolas was stuck in the same pea shooter posture as in "Plants vs. Zombies", and three magic potatoes that could curse people popped out of his quiver.
Cyber Tyranny of Electronic DM:
• Schrodinger Generation in Encounter Battles: Although the Shire Pastoral Dungeon was selected, the app forcibly airdropped three Ringwraiths to Bilbo's birthday party. The Hobbit NPC ate cake while chanting the lines from Game of Thrones: "Winter is coming!"
• The Mystery of Backpack Black Hole: Just after picking up the Mithril Vest in the Misty Mountains, the app "thoughtfully" synchronized it to the whole team, and as a result, Gimli's Axe and Aragorn's Holy Sword all became shared equipment - the dwarf roared that he would sue the Middle-earth Property Law.
AI rebellion famous scene:
• During the battle with the Orc BOSS, the app suddenly turned on the "Mercy Mode" and drew the enemy's attack trajectory into the path of the "Dancing Line" game. We held up our weapons and danced to the rhythm. Gandalf held up a sign: "Is this a Middle-earth nightclub?"
• The "Supreme Code" was triggered during the decryption process, and the verification code must be entered in Elvish. When I took out the Tolkien dictionary and prepared to show my skills, the app popped up an advertisement: "Open VIP automatic translation, only 99 Mithril coins/month!"
The disaster of cross-dimensional online:
• My friend's dwarf warrior got stuck in the modeling gap of the Moria mine. The app determined that he entered the "Durin Blood Awakening" state. From then on, he could only communicate by knocking on the axe through Morse code, living like the Middle-earth version of "The Martian".
• When the network speed fluctuates, the flame special effects of the Balrog will be quantum entangled into the rainbow shock wave of "My Little Pony". Gandalf's "You shall not pass!" was changed into SpongeBob's laughter, and the whole team laughed so hard that they couldn't hold the dice.
Gentle traps of hardcore functions:
• Epic loot tracking: After spawning a three-piece set of mithril in Mirkwood, the app forces you to open the "Thranduil Taxation" system. You need to hand in 70% of your equipment to unlock the next chapter. It's like the Middle-earth version of Pinduoduo.
• Dynamic difficulty curve: After three consecutive team wipes, the Ringwraiths will switch to the "Tom and Jerry" style, holding a "GG" sign and tap dancing, and Gandalf's white beard will become a mocking emoticon.
Now our team has evolved a metaphysical operation and maintenance method: stick Elvish rune stickers on iPad before the team starts, sing "May It Be" collectively when stuck, and take out Gandalf's pipe-shaped USB flash drive to restart when encountering a bug - don't ask, just ask the mithril hardware driver! It was just that I accidentally plugged the holy sword data cable in the wrong way, and the app suddenly loaded the mother code of "The Matrix". At this moment, we understood: it turns out that the end of Middle-earth is the set of Cyberpunk 2077!
(Aftereffects: I would imagine supermarket barcode scanners as elf shortbows, and when I see parking lot gates, I would want to shout “Speak friend and enter”. I suggest that Middle-earth Customs confiscate my electronic devices!)
