Hypebeast Flea Beijing: A gathering place for culture and community

Hypebeast, the world's leading contemporary fashion culture and lifestyle platform, held its second Hypebeast Flea in Beijing from April 18 to 20, attracting nearly 10,000 spectators to the bustling Taikoo Li Sanlitun. The three-day event brought together fashion, culture, music and food, and showcased creativity and community spirit in a diverse manner, announcing its return to the Asian market.

The market brought together more than 30 domestic and foreign brands, combining fashion retail with immersive cultural experience. Not only were there well-known brands such as Dime MTL and Polar Skate Co., but also the Public Housing Skate Team, which entered China for the first time; GunC and MEGA Vintage, which returned after the Hypebeast Flea held in Shanghai last September, brought back their iconic nostalgic style.

ANCHORET, JIAN YE, SEN WUNG & 椒麻水仙, SCRY and ALIVEFORM each presented their unique insights into contemporary design at their booths, attracting many trendy people in Beijing to flock in and participate. INTOIT, the first innovative brand of stylish sports eyewear designed specifically for Asian faces, launched the S1 VEIL and S2 BOUNCE sweetheart series. Meanwhile, USM interpreted its modular design concept through customized booth design and exclusive raffle prizes.

The food area was flavored by stalls such as CHAO, Charcoal, CUPCAKE COMA, D.A.O COFFEE, MOTEL 106 and RUFC. Guests enjoyed limited-edition cocktails, desserts and selected drinks, including a special edition wine jointly launched by Penfolds and Hua Chenyu.

In addition to fashion and food, Hypebeast Flea Beijing also expanded its space for in-depth cultural exploration. Artists and groups including ABS CREW, fRUITYSHOP, THE SCENE, Onoglish Goods and XUE MAN STUDIO jointly demonstrated the intersection of culture, music and art. Meanwhile, N·C·H·S-CHOOL and SUCRE set up craft booths that fully embodied the DIY spirit.

To commemorate the event, exclusive collaborations became the focus of the event. Hiking Patrol and SOULGOODS collaborated to create a limited collaboration T-shirt, while LAMFO and MTPTP designed limited edition products for the event. ABS CREW launched a special edition Cans Boy doll with snake skin, and health union RUFC and D.A.O COFFEE also released their own exclusive product versions. D.A.O COFFEE even designed a coffee-themed baseball cap to commemorate the event.

For the first time, Hypebeast Flea was held outdoors and added more activities. FILA FUSION hosted a skateboarding competition, while outdoor enthusiasts participated in an immersive nature experience with MTPT and Hiking Patrol. LAMFO also led a series of running training to inject vitality and movement into the event's urban environment. Cultural activities also extended to the Taikoo Li retail space, with highlights including a Stone Island documentary screening and a "City Navigation" forum hosted by Helly Hansen, with guests also appearing to share their insights.

The market ended on Saturday night and the atmosphere continued to heat up, with a late-night snack party held at MOTEL 106, hosted by Hypebeast and Carhartt WIP.

    I struggled with multiple searches for a specific shoe. It’s not the latest style, yet nothing came up. I had to click search twice just to see any results. The first click only gives suggestions, which feels like a hassle. The description claims updates on shoes, but that doesn’t seem true. No Zoom GTs, no Prestos, and definitely no SB Dunk “Pandas.”
