Contacts Privacy | Do my contacts know I am using Hushed?

- When you make a call with Hushed, all that the call recipient can see is your Hushed number. No other information is shared to protect your privacy!

- Your contacts are not informed that you are using Hushed to reach them, and they will not learn that you are calling/texting from an app unless you decide to share that information with them.

What if I don't have Wi-Fi?

- If you don't have access to a Wi-Fi connection, Hushed can use your phone's data plan. (Be cautious of how much data you're using if you're worried about exceeding your plan or incurring additional data charges.)

- If you decide you'd rather restrict Hushed to Wi-Fi only, that's totally fine. Just adjust your device settings to prevent Hushed from using data, and it will only work over Wi-Fi.

What if I don't have data?

-If you don't have data, that's totally fine. Hushed will work perfectly whenever you're connected to Wi-Fi (whether it's your home internet connection, a friend's house, or free public Wi-Fi).

- Just keep in mind that your Hushed number will not be able to send/receive texts or make/accept phone calls if you're without Wi-Fi or data -- it needs the internet to work.

How much data does Hushed use?

Hushed uses a small amount of data for calls and texts (very similar to iMessage data usage) but you can always monitor your data usage for Hushed within your device settings. Hushed texts usually each require between 0.0017 GB and 0.0037 GB of data to send or receive, which is pretty microscopic.

What if I'm in a bad service area?

If you're stuck somewhere with poor Wi-Fi or data coverage, you can use our free Call Routing feature to use minutes from your mobile plan instead. This is an easy way to enjoy great call quality by connecting your regular phone plan with your Hushed number.

Can I use Hushed on a tablet instead?

- You can absolutely use Hushed on a tablet, or an old phone. Hushed doesn't need you to have a real phone number, a SIM card, or any kind of wireless plan. As long as your device can install the Hushed app and connect to Wi-Fi or data, you're good to go.

- For users that are having trouble receiving verification codes, please contact the service which you are attempting to verify with and request "whitelisting" the Hushed phone number that you are trying to receive a verification code on.
