In the Human campaign, you play as Percival Kent, a seasoned paladin dispatched by the Emperor to investigate Goblin activities near a Human settlement. The kingdom teeters on the verge of war… Who stands to gain from its outbreak? What alliances must be formed to confront the looming green-skinned invasion?

The Elven campaign features Arcaena, the captain of the Elven archers. In your quest to locate Sylvius, a sagacious druid capable of controlling nature’s forces, you will battle against a formidable goblin mage and his henchmen.

Within the Orcs and Goblins campaign, you can also command a powerful dragon alongside a clever goblin companion named Vulpis, who employs cunning tactics and strikes with deadly precision. While seeking the origin of the unnatural floods that have driven your kin to seek refuge, you’ll encounter a new hero – a formidable Orc warrior.

GAME REVIEW

Hex Commander: Fantasy Heroes dropped me into one of the most engaging tactical battlegrounds I’ve played on mobile—and it didn’t take long before I was obsessively plotting flanks and fireball ambushes late into the night.

At first glance, the game looks like your classic turn-based fantasy skirmisher, but after a few missions into the Human campaign, I realized there’s a real tactical depth here that goes beyond the genre’s usual grind. You start off as Percival Kent, a no-nonsense paladin sent to investigate Goblin raids—but soon you’re neck-deep in political tension, siege warfare, and multi-front battles where positioning and terrain matter just as much as raw power. I still remember the moment I used a line of Dwarven riflemen behind fortified walls to snipe down a goblin horde while my cavalry swept around the flank. It was chef’s kiss strategy.

What really got me invested, though, was how every race and campaign feels like its own distinct game. The Elven campaign? Arcaena’s long-ranged precision and nature-based spells bring a finesse that had me picking off enemies from tree cover before melting back into the woods. Meanwhile, the Orcs and Goblins are all about brute force and clever chaos—especially when Vulpis the goblin assassin sneaks in to one-shot enemy mages while your pet dragon breathes fire across a siege line. Absolute mayhem. And the Dwarves? Pure tanky grit. You’ll find yourself holding choke points with shielded units while catapults rain down destruction.

Magic in this game isn’t just a gimmick—it’s a game-changer. I had a moment in a multiplayer skirmish where I was getting cornered, but one scroll let me summon a golem right behind the enemy’s squishy archers, turning the tide instantly. That mix of spell strategy and unit placement gives the gameplay a chess-like feel, but with dragons and toxic clouds.

Each campaign also rewards you with castle upgrades and teleportation tech that adds a persistent sense of progress. My base went from a humble fort to a sprawling command center, letting me beef up my elite units and add global reach to my tactics. It's satisfying to see your investment in units pay off as you replay skirmishes with different strategies.

And let’s talk PvP for a sec—because it’s shockingly good. The Battle, Capture the Flag, and Royale modes offer different pacing and objectives. In Battle, I’ve pulled off surprise victories by baiting opponents into terrain traps. Capture the Flag gets really intense with fast units like cavalry darting in and out. Royale is pure carnage and chaos—a total blast when you want to test your all-out war builds.

What I especially appreciate is how Hex Commander balances accessibility with depth. You don’t need to be a strategy veteran to enjoy it, but if you are the type to analyze unit stats, plan multi-turn ambushes, and experiment with cross-race synergy—there’s a ton of depth to explore.

To wrap it up: this isn’t just a fantasy strategy game—it’s a rich, replayable war story where your heroes grow, your tactics evolve, and every turn matters. Whether you’re into single-player campaigns with lore and progression, or you want to test your mettle against real players in smart PvP, Hex Commander: Fantasy Heroes is 100% worth your time. Just be warned—you might “accidentally” stay up way too late plotting your next move.

It sounds frustrating trying to enjoy the game and running into that bug. Loving the game is great, but not being able to summon the hellfire in the dwarf campaign must be annoying. You mentioned only owning one due to this issue, and it doesn't show up in battle. Using a reinforcement slot without getting the unit is definitely not fun. Trying three times and still having no luck has to be disappointing, especially now that you're nearing the end of the campaign. It might help to reach out to support for this issue. They could provide some insights or even a fix. Hopefully, you'll get back to enjoying the game soon!

What an amazing game! Over a hundred scenarios await, each packed with unique characters and plenty of twists. The tactical gameplay really tests your skills, especially with so many expendable units to command on both sides. You can purchase different units and upgrades, perfectly tuning everything to fit your style. The AI offers a worthy challenge, keeping the experience fresh as the story unfolds in a believable way. Learning the game is a breeze. You can save your progress or your turn at any point, and there's always the option to replay scenarios at higher difficulty levels for even more excitement. You’ll encounter heroes, orcs, elves, dwarves, along with catapults, archers, knights, and yes, dragons too! Every battle feels epic!

This game stands out as one of the best strategy experiences I’ve had. The excitement never fades. The storyline pulls you in, and the terrain graphics are stunning. Definitely deserving of five stars! One thing I’d love to see is a second chapter for all the races. I've completed the campaign maps for three races already, but some new missions would be fantastic. Overall, great job, HNG! 👏👏👏

The game is fantastic! The graphics are stunning, and the gameplay draws you in. One issue stands out though. Expanding to other levels can feel like a major challenge. For instance, facing Lixius and his army was intense. That level pushed my skills to the limit! I really wish it wasn’t that hard. Still, I’m having a blast with it 😊.

This is the best made-for-mobile game I've ever played. I can't stop coming back to it. There’s just so much content. I took a break for a bit because of all the ads, but now they've removed them. I'm changing my review back to 5-star!

This game blew me away with its engaging gameplay and fun stories. Finally, a game where you can run through all the campaigns without the need to grind endlessly or shell out real cash. Just a bit of patience with a few ads, and you’re good to go! What a refreshing experience!

I totally get the excitement! This game is such a blast. Perfect for killing time and I appreciate how you can save progress when you quit. The green skins definitely stand out. Their vibe is just incredible. Playing as an evil race brings a whole new level of fun. Now, about that question on creating a new race—what a thought! It would shake things up for sure. But yeah, it’s a big task with all the storytelling involved. Still, it’s great that you’re thinking about ways to evolve the game. Huge thanks to the creators for bringing this wonderful experience to life!

This game brings so much joy. The graphics stand out, looking fantastic. Players often mention a desire for more units, but the thrill lies in finding escape from tricky situations. I tackled missions where I lost all my units except the hero halfway through, but I still managed to complete them. The scrolls definitely support that strategy. I have played this game for three years now, and every moment has been enjoyable. I stumbled upon it by chance, but I have no regrets at all! 👌👌

Movement in turn-based games can feel tedious. Taking turns just to position units at points of interest can drain the excitement. An 'Auto Movement' feature would speed things up, allowing players to focus on action instead of constantly moving each unit. Units often consist of six individuals. As battles wear on, they dwindle one by one. Combining these units could streamline gameplay. Bringing together multiple units into a single group would fill hexes and reduce the number of moves needed as combat continues. This change would alleviate some of the repetitive nature of turn-based strategy, making battles more engaging and dynamic. Fewer turns would keep the pace lively and reduce the feeling of drag during extended encounters.

This game stands out as one of the best mobile experiences! It's so easy to pick up and play. The mix of strategy and casual fun keeps things exciting. The design is gorgeous, with stunning graphics that really draw you in. The narrative adds depth and richness to the experience. Keep up the amazing work! The other games you’ve developed are just as fantastic.
