Embark on your own adventure within the Hades Galaxy, or continue to lead the Empire you established in Hades’ Star.
DARK NEBULA represents the next stage of development for the Hades galaxy. With both familiar and well-enhanced activities alongside entirely new experiences, building a Space Empire has never felt more gratifying.
Create and expand your space Empire in an ever-evolving, persistent galaxy.
EXPLORE AND COLONIZE YOUR PERSONAL YELLOW STAR SYSTEM
The Yellow Star, being the most stable type of star, provides an ideal environment to firmly establish your presence and devise a long-term economic plan for your Empire. Every new player begins their journey in a uniquely assigned Yellow Star system and gradually expands by discovering and colonizing additional planets, setting mining operations, establishing trade routes, and dealing with the enigmatic alien ships that roam the Hades galaxy.
As the ruler of a Yellow Star system, you have total authority over access for other players. By forming diplomatic connections, you can permit other players to send ships to your area while setting your own guidelines regarding mining, trading, or military collaboration.
COOPERATIVE PVE IN RED STARS
At the game’s initial stages, every player will construct a Red Star Scanner, which enables them to transport ships to identified Red Stars. These stars have limited lifespans and will go supernova after 10 minutes.
The objective within the Red Star is to collaborate with any other players’ ships present in that star system, defeat NPC vessels, collect Artifacts from the Red Star planets, and return safely before the Supernova occurs. Artifacts can be examined at the home star, providing valuable resources for trade, mining, and combat improvements. More advanced Red Stars present tougher adversaries and greater rewards.
TEAM PVP IN WHITE STARS
Players are able to form Corporations. In addition to mutual assistance, Corporations can also scan for White Stars. In a White Star, players from two Corporations join forces to engage in a battle involving 20 participants in the same star system for Relics, a resource that can be gathered to improve the Corporation and bestow additional benefits on each member.
Time progresses very slowly in White Stars: each match lasts for 5 days, granting Corporation members ample opportunity to communicate and strategize together. The Time Machine can be utilized to plan upcoming actions, relay them to fellow Corporation members, and analyze potential outcomes of future confrontations.
EXHILARATING PVP IN BLUE STARS
Blue Stars function as high-paced combat arenas with durations of only a few minutes, during which the entire system undergoes catastrophic collapse. Each player can dispatch a single Battleship to the Blue Star. The five participating players compete against one another, employing their ships’ modules and other NPC vessels to eliminate the opposing Battleships and emerge as the final survivor.
Blue Stars deliver the quickest PvP gameplay in the experience. Regular participants earn daily and monthly rewards to further their Empire's growth.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is Hades’ Star for me?
You should definitely try Hades’ Star if:
You like space strategy games but feel like other PC games have too high continuous time requirements and/or interface complexity
You want to feel like you are always in control of an ever-growing space empire, including when you are not actively playing
You love playing with, chatting, and helping other people. The game is specifically designed around social interactions, generally encouraging cooperation, but there may still be interesting internal politics in Corporations for gaining power.
Hades’ Star is probably not for you if:
You are looking for an immersive experience that you can play for hours without interruption. There is no concept of “starting a new game”, instead each short session contributes to your overall progress over the next days, weeks and months. The game has been designed primarily for players with pockets of free time, who still want to feel like they are progressing in the long run, without having to start a new game each time they find some time to play.
You want a single player game. While Hades’ Star doesn’t require or force interaction with other players, it’s still likely your experience will be affected by other player’s actions.
Is Hades’ Star similar to <insert your favorite space strategy game here>?
There may be some similarities, but Hades’ Star is a largely original game. Here’s how some other games have affected us:
Master of Orion: The first space strategy game we played showed us the magic of space exploration, strategy and diplomacy. While Hades’ Star is a game radically different to Master of Orion, it is very much inspired by its potential.
Neptune’s Pride: This excellent strategy game showed us that you can have deep strategic gameplay without the complexity and severe continuous time requirements most space strategy games on the PC have.
OGame: We like OGame’s idea of a persistent world where a player can keep expanding through the universe and make their mark among other human players. At the same time, we want to offer more meaningful strategic options, provide in-game scenarios that lead to more interesting diplomacy, and eliminate what we see as unfair pressure (i.e. the theft of resources when a player is offline).
What is the goal of the game?
The goal is to expand your empire by colonizing multiple planets, building and upgrading fleets and space stations, and doing PvE and PvP missions that help you gain technology and influence. You will upgrade your planets and fleets using natural resources you find and compete for in various stars. There are multiple secondary goals players may want to engage in, such as climbing the leaderboards or completing various trade, mining or combat achievements. Future updates will add further goals and progress the story of the Hades Galaxy.
What customization options do I have for my ships?
The game offers pre-determined ship designs, but individual ships can be outfitted with modules that you discover and research separately. Modules give unique advantages to a ship, including weapons, mining equipment, etc. Our constant updates regularly add new module types to the game. We believe this is preferable to the alternative of allowing each player to design completely custom ships, especially considering our design focus. Having predetermined designs means each player knows the basic capabilities of other player’s ships without much possibility of confusion. Module customization still allows relatively unique ship designs for individual players.
What is the business model for the game?
Hades’ Star is free to play, with all content and progression available over time without paying anything. Optional in-app purchases allow faster progression.
