Grim Wanderings 2 presents an immersive role-playing experience that appeals to fans of Dungeons and Dragons. With its challenging turn-based combat and a vast selection of classes, the game offers a rich and engaging gameplay environment.
The main features of the game include:
1) An in-depth role-playing system
2) Tactical battles with a turn-based format
3) An abundance of quests and events
4) Item crafting
5) A captivating world that invites exploration and offers thrilling adventures
Role-playing System
The game features a deep role-playing system where characters are composed of two components: race and class. With a wide variety of races, including classic ones like humans, elves, and orcs, as well as more unique ones such as lizardmen and ratmen, and 25 character classes to choose from along with 37 classes for neutral creatures, each with their own set of abilities that greatly impact the gameplay.
Combat and Strategy
Turn-based Tactical Battles: The combat system is turn-based, providing a tactical experience that requires strategic thinking. It has evolved from being an extension of the classic Disciples to becoming a completely independent and original system.
Strategy Mode: In addition to adventure mode, the game includes a strategy mode. Players can build buildings both in the capital and on hexagons, and conduct technology research, adding a layer of strategic depth to the game.
Future plans include:
1) The introduction of a strategic game mode, which will feature city-building within a capital, construction on hexagonal tiles, and technology research. Essentially, this will transform into a comprehensive 4X strategy combined with rich role-playing elements.
2) The addition of an arena game mode, focusing solely on combat without narrative components. Player vs. player battles will be part of this mode.
3) The implementation of an infinite game mode, similar to its predecessor, which will lack a storyline and will have maps that regenerate after several dozen turns.
4) The addition of a considerable number of unique legendary artifacts.
5) A significant increase in random events that players may encounter during territory exploration.
6) New events will occur while navigating the global map, along with happenings at the start of each player's turn.
7) A game editor will be introduced, allowing users to create their own events, quests, and even entire campaigns. Additionally, players will be able to modify artifacts, races, classes, and character abilities, leading to profound changes in the game.
In designing this game, I drew inspiration from several outstanding computer games: Might and Magic 6 (1998), X-COM: UFO Defense (1994), and the Sid Meier's Civilization series. Furthermore, traditional board games have also played a significant role in shaping its development.

Fantastic game, a must try for all RPG fans. The only problem is the lag; initially the game plays perfectly well, but becomes unplayable after the first ad. I'm unsure if it's because the game is downloading more ads, or if my phone is the problem. I want to buy the game, but not if it's going to lag so much after I buy. Also there doesn't seem to be a way to find out how much it costs.
Idk, it's a bit clunky. Might be a fun game, but I couldn't get into it. For a game that's mostly menus the menus are just a bit all over the place, most of the time I played I didn't really know what I was looking at, and some actions that seemed like they should work, just didn't. I didn't really feel in control of the combat, and many early game enemies just destroyed my team.
I like the combat, character control (although it took a while to get a handle on the "happiness" stat, which remains the least fun), I like the random adventure generator, although it could be broader. The killer for me is the menus in the towns and how it overcomplicates the crafting. "Make a tier 5 mace" is one quest... Figuring out where the shops are to sell you the ingredients, figuring out how to convert ingredients... Never mind actually putting them together - bit of a bloody pain.
Definitely my top 5 android game. The ads and time limit could be annoying but it is easily solved by buying the game. Very reasonable and dirt cheap compared to some games in playstore. My only complain is the crafting system feels very demanding right now, would be very nice if the ingredients got a rework. Preferably it would be simplified like the resources at the top bar; after all, it could be really hard to navigate the sea of tiny icons in smaller phones.
It has some interesting design choices, but the balance is severely lacking. The tactics are quite limited. The shield block ability on the warriors is a very bad choice that only a complete noob would use, it needs to prevent more than it does to offset the action and action points it is wasting. Resting and attacking is too important. The same with the energy refill abilities.Maybe in later game those matter and you can add them as late game unlocks but early game that is a wasted choice.
Not sure if it's a bug on my phone or if other people have it, but every time I switch to another app and back into the game, I can't interact with anything. I see the animations of clicking buttons and hear the sounds but it doesn't do anything, and I have to restart the game and lose progress. The game seems interesting enough, but get frustrated with playing due to this bug.
Guide
** spoiler strat below **
The following only will work with a certain combination of characters...
I managed the final battle by reversing the normal arrangement of my characters. I had two characters (storm heralds) that could shoot corrupted arrows to make festering wounds, and one character (I think it was a battle mage) that could set a character to burn everyone on its neighboring squares for several turns. The festering wounds do nothing for like five turns, and then they hit REALLY hard. I had the Ruby emblem to clog the demon portal and I snuck past the guards so my troops would be able to be well rested for the boss battle. I put these three (weaker) characters in the front line, even though they would quickly die there against the battle demons. The job was for the two storm heralds to both put a festering wound on the boss demon, and for the battle mage to set boss demon's soul on fire (it does not hurt him, but it is >100 damage on each of his neighboring demons each turn, and he starts by being basically surrounded by his henchmen, so this one cast ends up doing around 1300-1600 total damage over time).
The storm heralds and battle mage quickly die but they and the fire do damage the battle minion demons. Then, the festering wounds kick in at some turn and kill the boss demon. You need your remaining three soldiers to be able to handle the remaining battle demons (not easy, but with the burning purge I set with the battle mage, these enemies are typically heavily wounded).
OK, that is what I did with that crew. I have a new crew now and there will be no festering wounds, so I am not sure how I will deal with the final battle. When my characters mature and I can see what their skills are, I will try to find a good strat like above.
