Gleeph, where the written word connects us.
Who are we?
Our vision
Reading connects
It's true that reading requires isolation to better escape. Even when the book is closed, we can remain alone for a long time, absorbed in imaginary worlds.
But reading is also profoundly social. It provokes encounters, sometimes heated exchanges, shared emotions, and opens us up to others. Those who have been on a train, sitting across from a passenger reading the same book, know this... The discussion and connection become evident.
The unique thing about books is that they can take us through the looking glass!
When I think back on my own journey, certain books have left such a profound impression that they continue to stay with me. Why do I still remember that on April 9, 1987, Philippe gave me René Leys by Victor Segalen, one of his favorite books? It's this magic, this intimate relationship we have with our books, that I want to share and bring to life among readers.
Our ambition: to combine the best of social media and books.
In the age of digital social media, it's never been easier to connect. Paradoxically, the feeling of loneliness is strong. Digital social media entertains us but can also amplify feelings of isolation.
At Gleeph, we believe that books can bring meaning to digital connections between people. We want to strengthen the pleasure of reading and its social connection through "reading together" and sharing libraries! We don't encourage the race for subscribers or the number of books. Our vision is one of humanism, culture, and sincerity: every book you love connects you in a positive and immediate way to your loved ones and thousands of other readers.
There's no need to burn books to destroy a culture. Just to make people stop reading them. Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
