Epicollect5 is a complimentary and user-friendly mobile platform designed for data collection, created by the CGPS Team at Oxford BDI.

This platform offers both web and mobile applications that facilitate the creation of forms (questionnaires) and provides project websites where users can freely collect data.

Data can be gathered from various devices, including GPS coordinates and media, and all collected information can be accessed on a central server through maps, tables, and charts.

Furthermore, data can be exported in CSV and JSON formats.

A user manual is available for assistance.

If you encounter any concerns or need additional information, there are community resources available.

About Us

Title: Epicollect5 Revolutionizes Field Research with Stunning Simplicity and Power

As an environmental researcher constantly wrestling with clunky data tools during remote surveys, Epicollect5 felt like discovering a digital Swiss Army knife – perfectly engineered for real-world chaos. The moment I crafted my first multimedia biodiversity form (complete with GPS-tagged fungus photos and nested tree health questionnaires) during a rainforest expedition, I was floored by its frictionless elegance: no coding knowledge needed, yet infinitely adaptable.

While competitors choke without signal, Epicollect5’s offline resilience shined – gathering soil samples in dead zones while auto-syncing gorgeous map visualizations to our team’s dashboard upon reconnection. The magic lies in how it democratizes science: community health workers plotted village outbreaks via simple drag-and-drop forms, while our lab exported polished CSV/JSON datasets directly into R for analysis withoutdata-wrangling nightmares. For anyone collecting anything anywhere – from citizen science projects to global epidemiology – this isn’t just free software; it’s academic liberation in your pocket.

This app is truly amazing for data collection. It works seamlessly on both laptops and mobile devices. A small issue arises with tablets, though—it states that the application isn't compatible. It would be fantastic if you could address this problem. Many people rely on tablets for their work. Ensuring compatibility would make this app even better!

Losing your device can be really stressful. First, check if the app has a cloud backup feature. Log in to your account on the new device and see if you can restore your data from there. If you didn’t use a cloud service, think about whether you saved any data locally. Look for files or backups on other devices or computers. You might also contact the app’s support team. They could assist you in recovering your data. Keep an eye on any security measures as well. You want to protect your information in the future.

Thanks for the feedback! A file upload option would definitely make things easier. It would be great to select multiple photos at once too. That would really improve the experience.

This app is perfect. Building my form felt effortless. It meets almost all my needs for field data recording. I do face a couple of issues. Downloading photos can be tedious since batch downloads aren’t an option; each photo has to be saved individually. That takes up a lot of time. The photo quality saved in the cloud isn’t as good as what’s on my phone. Despite these downsides, I plan to keep using the app but won't record my photos here. Highly recommended otherwise!

This app for my school really stands out. It’s way better than the school’s website. The app feels more user-friendly and has everything I need right at my fingertips. Things are easy to find, and it’s super convenient for checking schedules and assignments. It definitely enhances my experience!

This app works wonders for data collection. I love it, but I have one issue. I can't enter seconds when setting the time. This feature is really important for me. An update would be great!

This app is fantastic! It offers great features and is fun to use. But there's a glitch. Each time I take a photo or switch to another app, it restarts. Very frustrating! It can’t run in the background either. That’s a downside.
