Q:What kind of information is shared with the people on my Family & Friends list?

A:For plans at Disney theme parks and Resort hotels, each Guest on your Family & Friends list who has a Disney account can see either only the activities you have in common or all of your activities—depending permissions that you can control. You can set permissions by selecting “Settings” next to the Guest’s name.

When planning a Disney cruise, viewing and sharing plans is determined at the stateroom level. You can add Guests from up to 3 other staterooms by selecting the “Add” link on the My Reservations page.

Q:What’s the difference between the Family & Friends status messages "View Only Shared Activities" and “View All Activities”?

A:"View Only Shared Activities" means that the person can only view activities that you will enjoy together. “View All Activities” means that the Guest can see all of your plans, whether they are shared or not. Set permissions by selecting “Settings” next to the Guest’s name.

For a Disney cruise, viewing and sharing plans is determined at the stateroom level. You can add Guests from up to 3 other staterooms from the My Reservations page.

Q:When is the Disney Adventure Inaugural Voyage?

A:The Disney Adventure is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage on December 15, 2025. This will be followed by an inaugural season of 3- and 4-night cruises featuring only magical days at sea.

Stay tuned to the Disney Adventure ship page and Disney Parks Blog for more exciting details coming soon.

Top 6 Reasons to Take Your First Cruise

1. You’ll Find Family-Friendly Fun Galore

Spending quality time as a family can feel seemingly impossible while trying to keep up with the daily grind. A cruise vacation offers an impressive mix of activities everyone can do together, making it an ideal way to squeeze in that bonding time you’ve been craving. During a high-seas escape, you can catch live shows, live it up at a deck party, watch first-run movies, play group games, share memorable meals, enjoy plenty of pool time and soak up the sights in exotic locations. Disney Cruise Line even offers specially themed sailings like Marvel Day at Sea and Very Merrytime Cruises that feature celebrations, crafts and other interactive family events.

Thinking about a Bahamian escape? You won’t believe the sheer amount of things to do on a tropical oasis. Take Disney Castaway Cay, our private island reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line Guests. Once there, you can roam the sprawling beaches, snorkel in the blue lagoon, feast on barbecue fare, rent a boat and much more.

2. Voyages Are Chockfull of Included Amenities

The average land vacation may be filled with great à la carte options, but they can definitely add up! What’s so refreshing about a cruise is that there are so many offerings that are built-in to the cost of your fare. You can typically expect full meals, live performances, shipboard facilities and recreational activities to be a part of a fixed rate.

With Disney Cruise Line, you get all that and more. All ships feature at least 3 pool areas with waterslides, a full-service fitness center with ocean views, access to youth clubs and adult-only spaces, and top-notch entertainment―think Broadway-quality shows, themed deck parties and photo ops with popular Characters like Mickey and Stitch. If this piques your interest, read more about what’s included on a Disney Cruise.

3. Hassle-Free Planning Gives You Peace of Mind

Let’s face it: attempting to put together an itinerary of vacation experiences that pleases everyone in your family can be daunting, even for the most creative research mavens among us. That’s exactly why uncovering a getaway that meets everyone’s expectations is worth its weight in gold. Or perhaps we should say pixie dust? Cruises offer an amazing variety of things to do at sea and on land. And the best thing about them is that all the heavy lifting has been done for you. You’ll discover everything you need for a fun, relaxing trip all in one place―delicious dining options, cozy staterooms, epic pool areas, diverse recreational activities, exciting entertainment

and tried-and-true excursion ideas. It’s also the easiest way to travel to multiple destinations without long car drives or plane rides (a huge plus when you have little ones in tow).

Want to customize your onboard adventures? There’s an app for that! For example, everyone in your family who has a smartphone can download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for free and use it to manage their own schedules. Seriously, adding can’t-miss events is as simple as tapping a button.

4. Destination Hopping Is a Breeze

When it comes to cruise itineraries, the choices are endless. You can get a taste of paradise with a short, 3-to 4-night sailing to The Bahamas, Mexico or the Caribbean. Or go all-in with a week-long escapade throughout Europe or Alaska. Either way, cruises provide an easy and convenient way for you to experience several iconic locales without the stress of figuring out the nitty-gritty logistics of getting to and from each destination. Plus, there’s something really thrilling about arriving to a city by ship. Looking for some ideas? Check out some of the unique hot spots Disney Cruise Line travels to throughout the year.

5. Kids, Teens and Adults Have Plenty of Ways to Unplug and Unwind… On Their Own

What’s more rewarding than satisfying every whim? When you set sail on a cruise vacation, members of your family can shape their own day at sea―making it all about recreation, relaxation or a perfect combo of the two. With Disney Cruise Line, Mom and Dad can get massages at the Senses Spa & Salon or chill by the Quiet Cove Pool reserved for grown-ups, while the kids make friends at supervised hangout spots designed especially for them. If you need a few more examples, here’s a handy breakdown of activities we offer for Adults, Teens & Tweens and Kids.

6. You’re Essentially Getting the Ultimate Vacation

A cruise checks all of the right boxes when it comes to creating an unforgettable family vacation. Picture VIP-style hospitality, exposure to different cultures, endless entertainment, gourmet cuisine, access to some of the coolest pools imaginable and the chance to make your friends envious when they see photos of all of the fun you’ve had in postcard-worthy settings. You can even take it up a notch by mixing in a little Disney magic. Our ships offer an array of unique possibilities you won’t encounter anywhere else, like a Pirate Night deck party with fireworks, a Disney’s Oceaneer Club for kids ages 3 to 12, Disney-themed dining and memorable Character Experiences.

The messaging system didn't work as well as I wanted. Messages arrived 30 to 40 minutes late. On the bright side, checking my itinerary anytime was fantastic. Since I'm a picky eater, being able to look at the menus from other restaurants made things much easier!

The Samsung Note 9 played a crucial role on our cruise. This app acted as our communication lifeline. It connected family members, cruise personnel, and organized everything seamlessly. Maps guided us to different areas, schedules kept us on track for events, and reminders ensured we never missed a thing. We had to load this app on all devices before leaving port. It became essential for enjoying the entire experience.

The app proved to be incredibly useful on our cruise. It provided updates on showtimes, character greetings, and a whole range of activities happening on the ship. Keeping track of our chosen events, even those off the ship, became super easy with it. We could monitor our spending, making it perfect for staying within budget. Communication between family members felt seamless thanks to the in-app messaging feature. Best of all, we didn't need an internet connection to make it work. Truly amazing, and we absolutely loved using it!

This app is a must for cruisers. It's really good. One funny thing, you need to enter your birth date, but the only way to do it is by scrolling back month by month for years. We couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous that was. Another small issue, filters don’t stay selected. You have to choose them every time. It’s annoying but not a deal breaker. The app excels at keeping plans and events current. Overall, it stands out as the best cruise line app I’ve ever used.

I have had this app since our cruise last September. Watching the countdown to our next trip was exciting. Today, I needed to open the new version of the app. I tried but kept going in circles. No app to view at all. I plan to call because I'm really disappointed. It’s been a long time since May 12, 2019, and I still can’t download the app. I don’t use email on my phone much. I followed all the instructions perfectly, and it said the app downloaded. I went to the Google app store to open it, but it just sent me back to step one. I remember when the ships had the daily paper navigator. I wonder if they still do that. I prefer the old school way. Thank you for your help!

The app worked fine. The wifi on the ship, Dream, was terrible. I bought the medium package, and it ran out in 30 minutes. I turned off everything I could find on my phone, got the medium package again, and faced the same issue. Spending $80 for just 40 minutes felt absurd, especially since I don't use a lot of data. Despite that, I had an awesome week! 😁

The overall experience was fantastic. The activity schedules and bookings were well organized. During the voyage, the app had some issues. It glitched, and I couldn’t connect to the onboard wifi. I faced prompts to reattach to my reservations. After a couple of hours without access, I finally got connected, but all my chat history disappeared.

This app is essential for anyone going on a Disney cruise! It acts like a personal navigation tool for everything related to the cruise. I could easily stay in touch with my family and get their thoughts while planning our activities. As this was our first cruise, I can't picture how it would have been without this app!

Update: This app is great and really helpful! I wish it showed future movie events for specific locations. Like if I pick Buena Vista Theater, I want to see not just today's movies but the whole schedule for the upcoming days. Overall, this app is well done. It’s simple but super efficient and clean. The details about the cruise and ship are clear. The notifications work perfectly, and the navigation feels nice and easy.
