How to Track the Finger Prick Tests Sites

Diabetes:M

Finger prick tests minimize the stress and pain associated with venous blood draws, which makes them the preferred method of checking blood sugar levels. For people with diabetes sampling their blood with this method causes another issue – how to keep track of the spots that were last tested? With the Diabetes:M management app you can keep an eye on your finger prick test sites with minimal effort. Here are the steps you need to take in order to do so:

Log into your Diabetes:M account – on the main screen you will see the icon named Log Entry. Tap on it.

The app will pre-populate the date and time. For more accuracy, you can specify if this prick test was made before/after eating, before/after exercise, at night/in the morning (fasting glucose), or other.

Enter your blood sugar in the field named Glucose.

To open the hand visualization, tap on the Finger prick sites button right next to the metric you just added.

To select a left or right hand graphic use the left/right hand button at the top of the screen.

Tap on one of the zones to mark your test site. Tapping on another zone will remove the previously selected mark and will mark the new site. Use pinch/stretch or double tap to zoom in and out.

You can remove the marking you just did by tapping on the X icon situated at the top right of the screen.

Tap on the floppy disk icon on the top right to save your entry.

You will be redirected automatically to the Log entry screen where on the Test sites icon is added a little plus sign which indicates that the site is marked.

Tap on the floppy disk icon on the top right to save the data in the Logbook.

And just like that, you will have all the information needed for your next finger prick test so you won’t need to remember where exactly the last finger or spot was from where you took a sample. If you also want to have all your blood glucose levels information stored digitally on your phone just one click away – then consider actively using Diabetes:M management application. This functionality will be beneficial not only for your personal use but also when you are preparing for your Endo appointment.

Comments

This is the best app I have seen for the diabetic and to track medical info. You can keep track of your glucose, meals, weight, exercise & more. Gives estimated A1c. Scan barcodes for food info, log lab reports, bluetooth. Very quick to respond to emails. Reminder alarms to check blood sugar. Section for insulin and meds I dont take meds not sure how it works. I have the premium version so that all the options. I advise you check this app out and I am sure you will be happy you did.

It's fantastic to see how smoothly my son handles his shots at just 9 years old. He has been doing this for over a year now. I introduced him to the app, and he really enjoys it too! I plan to show it to the school nurse and other kids with type 1 diabetes. So grateful for this! 😃 We have been using this app for three years, and it remains absolutely AMAZING. Our school nurses even bought it for all the diabetic students. It makes it so much easier to print out information for doctor visits. Everyone appreciates being able to keep track of insulin on board, especially during gym and recess.

I've been using Diabetes:M for three years now. It's been fantastic. I can easily track which finger I used for glucose testing, making it simple to alternate fingers. Blood pressure and other health indicators are also logged effortlessly. Navigation is straightforward, and I love the customization options. The logs stay clear and concise. I can even log my medications, although I did have to hunt a bit to find that option in settings. Just one minor challenge, but overall, it definitely deserves five stars.

This app feels outdated and struggles to keep up with newer options. The interface crowds the screen, making it hard to navigate. It no longer connects to Google, which is frustrating. Blood glucose data won't sync with Fitbit anymore. After the latest Android 14 update, logging and syncing with Libre 2 stopped working. This app really needs a total overhaul. I’m canceling my subscription because I found a much better alternative.

I absolutely love the reminders and everything else. The layout works well, and I enjoy adding extra medications. One thing I would appreciate is the option to turn off the "good vs bad" blood sugar indicators. While that feature might be helpful for some, it feels a bit too judgmental and oversimplified. Having lived with diabetes for 25 years, I have a solid understanding of what my numbers mean. Sometimes it feels a little patronizing.

This app is a game changer for tracking health data. It captures everything from injection sites to carb ratios and even insulin sensitivity. It connects easily with devices like MiaoMiao and BluCon, making it super convenient. However, a couple of issues pop up. Adding new medications often crashes the app. Low alerts show up unexpectedly when levels are fine. Also, scans from Libre don't seem as accurate compared to the official app. Despite these glitches, the potential is enormous.

Since the update with those 14-day trials, my apps started crashing every time I tried to open them. The only workaround was using the widget to go straight to adding logs. It was frustrating. I hoped someone would look into this issue and fix it so I could change my rating. A few updates later, after five months of waiting, the apps finally stopped crashing. Thank you!

DM has become more reliable. Bluetooth syncing always gave me trouble, but entering data manually isn't tough. I use the bolus calculator and graphing a lot. The calculations are decent if I take time to log all my food. It's a real shame it doesn't connect with MyFitnessPal. That app handles food logging much better.

I searched for an app that could read from the Freestyle Libre sensor, count calories, and calculate insulin boluses. This app helped me a lot, even with some issues in food and barcode data. It made daily life easier while I used Freestyle Libre 1. Since switching to Freestyle Libre 2, I hope for integration with the new version.
