Cyber Knights is a turn-based tactical RPG where you lead a squad of operatives and warriors embarking on unlawful missions for various factions vying for dominance over urban areas. Navigate a vast, persistent world featuring ten competing factions, over 600 contacts and citizens, more than 500 shops, and over 400 battle combinations, all while facing threats at every turn.
In the year 2217, humanity has faced catastrophe. Megacorporations offer refuge to the last human survivors within the expansive dome cities such as New Boston and New Berlin. Across the globe, the Global Matrix has unified scattered individuals and reignited competitive tensions.
Advancements in technology have transformed humanity. Many Cyber Knights now utilize nanotechnology and cybernetics to gain superior advantages and push their capabilities beyond mere human limits.
A worldwide arms race has erupted among surviving megacorporations. The quest for technological supremacy and control over the remaining urban landscapes is paramount.
Within this cold war scenario, the soldiers are referred to as Cyber Knights. As elite urban mercenaries, they are considered expendable, deniable, and highly effective. Megacorporations rely on them for the underhanded operations conducted in the shadowy realms of the metroplex.
You will take charge of a proficient team of mercenary cyber-warriors. Engage in turn-based tactical combat to utilize skills, tools, and cybernetic enhancements for optimal results. Customize your team members by specializing in stealth, combat, or hacking abilities. Achieve dominance over the megacorporate realm through strategy, infiltration, combat skill, or by becoming a digital phantom.
The game boasts eight unique skills, five character classes, and 400 assorted items, weapons, and armors. Personalize your leader and team with 65 different cybernetic upgrades. Choose a side in this urban struggle and embody diverse roles like Hacker, Gun Slinger, Sniper, Cyber Sword, or the formidable AgentEX!
As a Knight, you'll come across:
* 140 Weapons
* 45 Armors
* 100 Matrix Hosts
* 60 Cybernetic Implants
* 600 NPC Contacts
* 55 Monsters
* 400 Monster Teams
Neon & Steel Salvation: Why Cyber Knights RPG Became My Obsessive Tactical Fix
That first mission—sneaking my Hacker through laser grids while my Cyber Sword dueled corporate guards—ignited a tactical addiction that consumed my weekends. Cyber Knights RPG doesn’t just borrowfrom cyberpunk greats; it evolvesthem into a labyrinthine playground of chrome and consequence. Starting with the free version, I assembled a squad of outcasts: a grizzled AgentEX sniper, a street-savvy Gun Slinger, and my stealth specialist "Silk." The turn-based combat is deceptively deep—positioning my Sniper on overwatch as Silk disabled turrets via subnet hacking felt like orchestrating a synthwave symphony of violence.
When I upgraded to Elite, the scope exploded. Importing my free squad, I grafted neural implants for AP boosts and thermal vision, turning a routine data heist into a tense ballet of timed takedowns and ICE-breaking minigames. One late-night raid haunts me: breaching a Yakuza-owned clinic, my Cyber Sword parrying mono-wire assassins while my Hacker fried security drones—all to extract a biotech defector. The persistent world reacts dynamically; favoring the Anarchs in Southside later locked me out of Corp contracts, forcing creative gigs with smuggler factions.
Trese Brothers nailed the atmosphere: grimy alleyways pulse with holographic ads, while faction reputations shift like shadow deals. With 400+ gear combinations and 65 cybernetic upgrades, no two Knights play alike. My Gun Slinger’s recoil-compensating cyber-arm differed wildly from my friend’s poison-nanite AgentEX build. This isn’t just XCOM in a trench coat—it’s a living, breathing dystopia where every implant choice whispers "power has a price."
FAQ:
Free vs. Elite: What’s the real difference?
Free offers 1 Knight, core combat, and 20+ hours of faction missions. Elite unlocks 3 Knights, 50+ weapons, 30+ cybernetics, Hunder class ($2), and expanded story arcs—worth it for the depth.
Can I transfer progress to the upcoming sequel?
Unconfirmed, but Trese Brothers typically support saves across titles. Wishlist Cyber Knights: Nexuson Steam for updates!
Is multiplayer/co-op planned?
Currently single-player only. The sequel may expand features—follow dev blogs for news.
How grindy is the implant system?
Implants require rare components from high-risk missions or faction trading. Prioritize wisely—a Reflex Booster costs more than just credits (e.g., Corp loyalty hits).
Android release date?
"Shortly after" Steam launch (TBA). Play the free RPG now; Elite unlocks carry over.
Controller support?
Mobile touch controls are slick, but Steam version will fully support controllers—ideal for tactical precision.
For Shadowrun refugees and Deus Dir fans: this is your neon-drenched tactical renaissance. Just don’t blame me when you respec your squad at 3 AM.
