Why do I have to pay a higher fee since May when not all programs are available online?

Regarding the availability of some programs broadcast by Czech Television on internet platforms, we are encountering licensing restrictions. However, the situation is gradually improving. Since the beginning of 2024, we have been working to make it possible to broadcast as many programs as possible online. We have already reduced the share of programs that cannot be watched live over the internet (so-called simulcast) from the original 13.85% to 7.35%. Similarly, we are also improving the availability of programs for re-watching – for example, as part of the iBroadcasting service. In the future, we will continue to invest in this area and expand the range of available content on the internet, which will allow us to maximize the range of programs that can be watched online.

Why is the program Objektiv broadcast in Slovak?

Since 2014, when Anetta Kubalová joined the Objektiv team, she has not only been a presenter of the program, but also its dramaturg. The program is only accompanied in Slovak, but the essence of the program, which is the reports themselves, the viewer can always watch in Czech, and therefore without any restrictions. We will only add that Ms. Kubalová speaks Czech, but the decision to speak Slovak was made by the creators of the program. No change is currently planned in this regard.

Objektív as a travel project with a long tradition was and is a platform that not only brings interesting facts from abroad, but also builds bridges to understanding and tolerance. It will be difficult to find a more favorable and natural platform on the media market to demonstrate what more or less belongs to the reality of the Czech Republic, i.e. the natural coexistence with the Slovak phenomenon, which cannot be perceived as exclusively foreign.
