Chess is a beloved intellectual board game enjoyed by people all over the globe.

Strategic Tips

1.Opening Knowledge

Learn common openings well. Computers tend to follow established opening theory for a few moves, allowing you to prepare responses based on their likely moves.

2.Simplifying the Game

Aim to simplify the position by exchanging pieces when you have a material advantage. This reduces the tactical complexity and can lead to winning endgames, where computers may not perform as well.

3.Endgame Focus

Transition into endgames whenever possible. Many computers have limited calculation abilities in endgames, particularly in King and Pawn scenarios. Familiarize yourself with basic endgame strategies to capitalize on this weakness.

4.Practice and Adaptation

Play Regularly: Consistent practice against computer opponents can help you recognize patterns and improve your precision. Try to analyze your games afterward to learn from mistakes.

Adjust Difficulty: Start with easier levels and gradually increase difficulty as your skills improve. This helps build confidence and understanding of various strategies without overwhelming you.

5.Experimentation

Use AI opponents as a safe space for experimentation. Test out new openings or strategies without the fear of losing rating points, which can be beneficial for learning.

6.Learning from Mistakes

Pay attention to how computers exploit your mistakes. If you notice a pattern in how they capitalize on certain moves, use that insight to refine your own play against human opponents later on.

There's this app that I've been using, and let me tell you, I only gave it one star because the developer doesn't seem to be paying much attention. The thing is, sometimes the app just crashes out of the blue, and it happens quite often. It's really frustrating, so I hope they can fix it soon.

Imagine you're playing chess on your own, just like in a video game. I came across what seems like a problem (I'm new to this, so forgive me if I'm mistaken). When I'm playing as the black pieces and the white player moves any pawn, I can hop one of my pawns into that same row as if for an en passant move and capture my own pawn. If this is actually allowed and I've got it all mixed up, my bad!
