FAQ
1.I am a member of "Sankei iD". Can I read Sankei Shimbun's members-only article?
You can read all the articles on "Silver Key" for free among the members-only articles. The "Golden Key" article is a paid article, so please apply for the "Sankei News Basic Plan" or "Sankei News Standard Plan" to read it.
2.I have newly registered with Sankei iD, but I have not received a registration completion email
A.You will usually receive an email within a few minutes. If you do not receive the "Sankei iD Reception Confirmation Email" after a few hours, it may be due to the following reasons.
(1) If you have set up domain-specific reception or email address designated reception, you will not receive a registration confirmation email. In that case, please set the settings to allow receiving from "id.sankei.jp" and register again.
(2) Depending on the email software you are using, it may be treated as spam. Just in case, please check your spam folder and other other incoming folders.
(3) There is a possibility that the email address entered is incorrect and may not be delivered. Please check the uppercase and lowercase letters before proceeding again.
*The registration confirmation email sent at the time of registration will be invalid 24 hours after delivery. If more than one day has passed, please complete the new registration process from the beginning.
3.Is there a free period for Sankei News' "Basic Plan" or "Standard Plan"?
Sankei Shimbun's "Basic Plan" or "Standard Plan" does not have a free period.
4.I had signed up for a Sankei News paid membership plan by November 27, 2023, but what will be the price?
Everyone who has registered as a paid member of Sankei News (and those who register as a paid member by November 27th) can use the basic plan at the current membership fee (550 yen/tax included).
*However, please note that if you wish to re-subscribe after November 28, 2023 after canceling your subscription, the monthly fee of 990 yen (tax included) will be applied.
5.I had a contract for the Sankei electronic version of Sankei iD "Sankei Shimbun" by November 27, 2023, but what will be the price?
Everyone who registers for "Sankei Electronic Version for Sankei iD "Sankei Shimbun" (and everyone who registers for "Sankei Electronic Version for Sankei iD "Sankei Shimbun" by November 27th) can use the Standard Plan at the current membership fee (1980 yen/tax included). Not only will you be able to use the electronic version of the viewer as before, but you will also be able to read articles exclusively for Sankei News members.
*However, please note that if you cancel your contract and re-subscribe on or after November 28, 2023, the monthly fee of 2,750 yen/tax including tax will apply.
6.I can't log in because I don't know my password
On the login page, click on "Forgot Password" and reset your password.
7.I want to change my registered credit card to another credit card.
While logged in to Sankei News, go to "Change Payment Method" from "My Menu" on the top right of the page, and click "Change Payment Method for Renewal" to add a new payment method. Alternatively, open the "Review & Modify Registration Card" tab and modify the card that is currently registered.
*Please note that depending on the timing of the procedure, the card before the change may be charged.
8.I received an email saying that my credit card payment was an error, what should I do?
The "Payment Error Notification" email is sent when the payment cannot be made for any reason, such as an expired credit card.
Payment will be made again after a certain period of time from the date of the error, so please check your registered credit card. To check the method, click "Change Payment Method" from the My Menu on the top right of the Sankei News. If it has expired, please click the pencil mark on the right from the "Confirm and Modify Registered Card" tab to change your credit card information.
If two weeks have passed since receiving the email without being able to make a payment, the subscription will be automatically canceled and the paid service will not be available. If you wish to resume your subscription, please apply for the Sankei News "Basic Plan" or "Standard Plan" again.
9.Can I sign up for Sankei News' "Basic Plan" or "Standard Plan" as a corporation?
There is no corporate contract for the Sankei News "Basic Plan" or "Standard Plan".
In addition, the Sankei Shimbun's paper viewer "Sankei Electronic Edition" accepts corporate contracts. Please contact and apply from the "For Corporate Customers" page of the Sankei electronic version.
10.I want to cancel the Sankei News "Basic Plan" or "Standard Plan"
While logged in to Sankei News, you can check the services you are contracting and canceling by going to "Check and change your contract status" → "Paid Membership Service Subscription Status" from "My Menu" on the right side of the page. To cancel your subscription, please click "Cancel" at the bottom of your contract information by 23:59 the day before the contract renewal date. Even if you cancel your contract, you can still use the service until the contract expires. In addition, usage fees that have already been paid will not be refunded.
Please note that if you apply for a plan change, you cannot cancel or cancel it until the next renewal date. Please complete the procedure after the next update date.
11.Can I use the Sankei electronic version (paper viewer) with "Sankei iD"?
If you purchase the Sankei Shimbun "Standard Plan", you can use the Sankei Shimbun paper viewer. You cannot use the paper viewer just by registering "Sankei iD".
12.I have automatic login settings, but I am frequently asked to log in
(1) Make sure that it is not open in private mode (incognito mode) of the browser. If you want to log in automatically, please use the normal mode.
(2) If the "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" function is turned on in Safari for iPhone, automatic login may not be available. Turn off the "Prevent cross-site tracking" feature. Learn more (

13.Google Chrome warned that password information was leaked
When you log in with Google Chrome, you may see a warning that your password information has been leaked due to a data breach on a site or app.
This does not mean that password information was leaked from the Sankei Shimbun website, but rather a warning to the effect that the password entered when logging in is a password leaked on another site.
14.If you receive the above warning, we recommend that you change your Sankei iD password.
To change your password, please access the Confirm and Change Registration Details page from "Confirm and Modify Registration Details" in the My Menu on the top right of the Sankei News, and access the "Change Login Password" page from "Change Password" at the bottom of the page.
15.If I change my plan, when will the payment amount change?
You will be charged the changed plan fee from the next renewal date. You can continue to use the service you are using until the renewal date.
16.Can I cancel or cancel my plan after changing it?
If you apply for a plan change, you cannot cancel or cancel it until the next renewal date. Please complete the procedure after the next update date.
17.How do I log in if I made a purchase with "Buy on Google"?
If you "purchase on Google" without a Sankei iD, your Sankei iD will be registered in your Google account. When logging in, select "Sign in with Google". If you register a password from Sankei iD's My Page after logging in, you can also log in to Sankei iD.
18.If I purchase with "Buy on Google", what should I do about cancellation?
If you wish to stop using the service, please cancel your subscription through your Google account or Google Play. You cannot cancel on Sankei News' My Page. Even if you cancel your contract, you can still use the service until the contract expires. Please note that usage fees that have already been processed will not be refunded.
19.I purchased with "Buy on Google", but can I change my plan?
In the case of "Purchase with Google", you cannot change your plan on the Sankei News application page or My Page. Please cancel your subscription with your Google account or Google Play and apply for a new one after the contract expires.
20.I want to know how to pay with "Buy with Google"
If you buy on Google, you'll be charged with your existing payment method stored in your Google account.
21.The timing of payment and automatic renewal with "Buy with Google" is
The first payment will be made on the day of application and will be automatically renewed every month. For example, if you sign a contract on the 15th, payment and automatic renewal will be made on the 15th of the following month, and if you do not cancel the contract, it will be repeated in the same way.
*As an exception, if you sign a contract on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month, there may be no such date depending on the month, so the date of payment and automatic renewal will fluctuate. For example, the first renewal date for those who signed a contract on January 31st will be February 28th.
