This game is not what it appears to be...
Drawing inspiration from unsettling and poorly designed educational games of the 1990s, Baldi's Basics presents a unique horror experience that's quite bizarre, lacking any genuine educational worth. The primary objective is to gather seven notebooks and make your escape from the school; however, accomplishing this task proves to be quite difficult! You'll have to master the game's nuances to devise an effective strategy and avoid being captured by Baldi. Successfully utilizing Baldi's companions to benefit you, efficiently managing items discovered throughout the school, and memorizing the school's layout are essential components for victory!
The game offers two distinct modes: story and endless!
• In story mode, you must collect all 7 notebooks and escape the school to win. The more notebooks you gather, the quicker Baldi will become! It's a straightforward premise, yet highly challenging.
• Endless mode challenges you to see how many notebooks you can acquire before Baldi catches up with you. As time goes by, Baldi accelerates, but each time you correctly answer the problems in a notebook, he slows down. The longer you maintain control over his speed, the more notebooks you'll be able to collect!
This is an official adaptation of the original game featuring touch screen controls as well as support for controllers! Don’t forget to explore the options menu to customize these features to fit your preferences!
Baldi's Basics: Cracking the Egg of Education
Hey, what’s up, everyone? It’s Markiplier here—yes, that Markiplier—and welcome to “The Basics of Baldi (Egg Cranium Edition) in Education and Learning!” You guys have been begging me to play this game, and today, I’m finally diving into it. If you’ve never seen this game before, buckle up—because things are about to get bizarre.
First Impressions
Right off the bat, the game’s look might fool you. At first glance, it seems like a quirky, low-budget educational horror title—one of those games where appearances can be extremely deceptive. I was warned that the controls are simple—WASD for movement, mouse clicks for actions, spacebar to look behind you (say goodbye to your friends if you miss that!), and a mix of other keys—but trust me, nothing could prepare you for what comes next.
The Premise, Sort Of
The story? Honestly, it’s kind of nonsensical. Baldi, the teacher, is waiting in this weird, outdated school where you have to retrieve your friend’s notebooks. You’re forced to dash through hallways, solving math problems along the way—because if you mess up, Baldi isn’t just disappointed; he’s out for blood (figuratively… well, almost). Every time you grab a notebook, you have to answer a math question correctly. Nail three in a row, and you might get some reward. It makes little sense—sort of like Slender Man with an overzealous teacher—but hey, it’s all part of the twisted charm.
Gameplay and Mechanics
Now, let’s talk about the gameplay. It’s a crazy blend of running, dodging, and answering math problems under pressure. The controls are straightforward, but trust me when I say—Baldi’s relentless pursuit will have you wishing you’d taken a different path. When I first encountered Baldi, I couldn’t believe my eyes—his presence is both eerie and hilarious. He greets you with a cheery “Welcome to my school!” only to turn into a terrifying, rule-enforcing nightmare the second you slip up.
Navigating the hallways is an exercise in both agility and mental math. The game forces you to obey absurd school rules like “No running in the halls” or “No fourth wall kicks”—and if you break them, you’re hit with detention in the form of a sudden, jarring slap from Baldi himself! It’s both infuriating and oddly entertaining.
The Math Challenges
The math problems are presented in a rush—often you have mere seconds to type in the correct answer. One minute you’re confident (8 + 9 equals 17, right?), and then something unexpected happens, and suddenly Baldi’s angrily barking orders. The pressure builds as you try to navigate through increasingly absurd challenges. It feels like a twisted game of “Whack-a-Mole” where every mistake brings a new slap from your overly strict math teacher.
A Rollercoaster of Emotions
What really stands out is the relentless, chaotic energy. One moment I’m laughing at the absurdity of it all; the next, I’m cursing under my breath because Baldi just hit me for daring to run in the halls. The game is equal parts frustration and fun. Its outdated, 1999-style graphics only add to the charm—if you’re into that retro, lo-fi aesthetic, you’re going to love it.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, Baldi’s Basics: Cranium Egg Edition (or however you want to call it) is one crazy ride through the halls of what might be the most nonsensical school simulation you’ve ever played. It may not make perfect sense, but that’s exactly what makes it so entertaining. There’s a certain joy in its absurdity—a challenge to your wits, your reflexes, and your patience all at once.
If you’re ready to experience a game that’s as maddening as it is hilarious, give this one a shot. Just remember: keep your wits about you, follow the bizarre school rules, and maybe—just maybe—you’ll escape Baldi’s wrath without losing all your notebooks.
