Note: We were moving with my wife in March so in Feb-March period so most of my excess time was going to related tasks. I was receiving more funding than I was able to work for. So after March, I have 11.34 hours of sponsorship left, not yet used. This will be used in April, Lord willing.

Observations: Support has been increased significantly in last 3 months. I feel blessed about this development, and very happy to see that there are other people sharing the (financial) burden of AndBible development with me! New cool features that sponsorship has enabled me to do: NextCloud support for device sync and custom icons for bookmarks. Total support has still room for improvement (goal is 4 full working days per month) Breakdown of tasks (2024-2025)

Breakdown of tasks (2024-2025)

Here is the breakdown how paid hours were used:

Paid tasks Q1/2024 Q2/2024 Q3/2024 Q4/2024 Q1/2025
Support 1.48 5.42 7.28 7.35 3.0
Maintenance 0.92 14.57 6.25 8.03 6.9
Feature 0 15.05 0.00 0.09 30.3
Reviewing contributor’s code 0 0 2.28 4.02 0
Total 2.4 35.04 16.40 19.40 40.2

In other words, in Q1 statistics look like this:

Support (help.andbible@gmail.com email mainly): 3.0 hours = 7.5%

Maintenance tasks (bug fixing etc): 6.9 hours = 17.2 %

New feature development: 30.3 hours = 75.4 %

Reviewing contributor’s code: 0 hours = 0 %

Some analysis/remarks:

Due to special period (moving etc.) I was not having a lot of time for almost anything. Still because of some significant sponsorships, I wanted to spend some time in feature development. During this period I was clearly neglecting support (in fact, people are still waiting for replies when I’m writing this).

I believe that things from my point of view are normalizing in Q2/2025. Though feature development is having priority as I think that’s what sponsors want me to do most.

Closing words

I want to thank every AndBible sponsor for making it possible to keep the app well maintained, supported and developing. I am very happy to see that there are other people sharing the (financial) burden of AndBible development with me!

Best regards & blessings,

This is my all time favorite app! I use it more and more as I get more familiar with it. Being able to add my own epubs and the scripture references auto hyperlink is wonderful! the TTS, Read aloud option is well done too. I notice that I can't search within other books, only the bible. Can this feature be added?

Among the very best Bible apps for Android in existence. This app is so full of helpful features that facilitate Bible study I'm amazed it's available to us for free. At first, the sheer number of functionalities and utilities dazzles you that you only slowly realize how they can be efficiently harnessed to take to make a rich-featured, powerful Bible tool. God bless the developers of this app. I deeply appreciate it. Definitely recommend it to everyone.

This is by far the best open source mobile Bible app available - and its free - as the Bible should be! It is feature packed and can even be run on a desktop machine via Waydroid (requires a bit of technical experience). If you are able, please support the developer!

Hands down my favorite Bible app. Has LOADS of features, and without needing an internet connection (after a resource has been downloaded), or taking up a lot of space. At first it can seem a little odd, but once you get to know it, you won't want any other Bible app (at the very least I didn't). Highly recommend. Great job AndBible developers!

The And Bible app stands out after trying other options. Downloading Bible translations happened without a hitch. Navigating through the app felt intuitive and quick. The settings menu offers a variety of choices, allowing for full customization. Reading in the And Bible is a breeze and a pleasure. Huge thanks to the developers for making this possible!

The interface stands out with its excellent functionality. It offers fantastic resources for Bible study. Each time I use the app, I find new features to explore. One cool trick is pasting a block of text in the Study Pad. The app automatically pulls up all the Bible passages mentioned in that text.

I’ve tried a bunch of Bible reading and study apps, but this one stands out as my favorite. It organizes different Bible translations, commentaries, and maps into neat modules. The interface makes it simple to turn reference numbers on and off. Switching between translations is clear and easy too. It really caters to my needs perfectly.

This app shines with its customization. You can easily compare different versions of texts, which is fantastic. I have Tyndale's New Testament stored on it, along with a bunch of commentaries. Adam Clarke’s commentary stands out as one of my favorites. The app also includes maps and loads of other features. One thing I really appreciate is the ability to have multiple windows open. I can set up a couple for family worship and more for personal devotion time without losing my place. Day or night mode works great, and I can adjust the font size to suit my preference. Tilt scrolling, highlighting, and adding my own notes make it even better. It's truly an amazing app! *****

The app stands out as an amazing tool for daily Bible devotion and study. The Voice feature works well and serves its purpose. You won’t be able to customize the voice beyond switching it from female to male in the settings. The adjustments available focus on speed and pitch, leaving limited options for personalization.

This app offers a fantastic selection of Bible versions. After running into some phone issues, I had to reinstall it. To my surprise, the ESV version, which I rely on the most, is no longer available. This left me feeling quite disappointed. CrossWire Bible Society, what happened to the ESV in this app? My husband has an older version, and his still includes the ESV.

Hey everyone! This app blew me away! The referencing feature? Total game changer. No more thumbing through a massive concordance. Everything's right here. Footnotes and highlights make life so much simpler. So user-friendly with amazing resources. But then, out of nowhere, I can't see any texts. It just happened suddenly. Anyone know what’s going on? Need help!

This app truly stands out, far better than most Bible apps. It offers an abundance of FREE resources. Strong's is available for free, along with many commentaries that usually come at a cost on other apps. Users can download each resource for offline use, including indexes for different versions to search words or phrases easily. However, these indexes sometimes fall short, not always finding exact matches. With this app, clicking on any word in the KJV reveals the corresponding Strong's Greek and Hebrew immediately. It also provides links to every instance where the Bible uses that specific word, enhancing understanding. One frustrating aspect involves the reading guide. It lacks an awareness of the current date. For those not starting on January 1, tracking progress becomes a hassle. Days are listed by number instead of actual dates. Every time one accesses the guide, it resets to January 1, creating unnecessary confusion.

The 4.0 update brings a fantastic change! When you enter a note, the note field smoothly appears above the keyboard. This feels so intuitive. Many apps have a keyboard that blocks the text field or takes up most of the screen. With this update, it’s all about ease and clarity. You can see everything without distractions. It makes writing notes much more enjoyable.
