050 plus is an IP phone application for smartphones that offers the ability to make calls at incredibly low rates. Unlike free chat software, users are assigned a unique phone number starting with 050, allowing them to make and receive calls to both mobiles and landlines. By accessing the smartphone's call history within the application, users can easily initiate call backs with a simple operation.

■ Calls to landlines: 8.8 yen/3 mins.

■ Calls to mobiles: 17.6 yen/min.

■ Calls to other 050 plus users: Free! (Calls to other affiliated 050IP numbers are also free*2).

* Customers are required to cover packet data transmission fees associated with calls or receipt of emails. It is advisable to choose a capped packet data plan.
