Widget not updating

In recent years, the Android operating system has become more and more complex, which also affects the functionality of our widgets. In order to ensure the widgets update themselves regularly and autonomously, numerous processes are necessary that run in the background and require battery power. Especially with newer Android versions, the system can strongly influence these processes and even terminate them without a visible message. Similar problems are often caused by additionally implemented programs (so-called task killers), which are integrated into the system by the manufacturers, especially in order to increase the battery life cycle.

In general, we recommend to disable all energy saving options for the app and (if available) the adaptive battery. It’s also suggested to let WeatherPro run in the background to not interrupt the processes needed for updating the widgets in the background. This might help to prevent the clock in the widget from stopping when the app is closed via the task manager.

The WeatherPro widgets update regularly every 30 minutes. If the system does not respond to the data request or there is currently no Internet connection, the update may fail. A quick workaround is to open the app, because the background process for the widget is then restarted. Alternatively, the widget can be updated by pressing the refresh button.

With the latest updates, the widgets have been repeatedly optimized and the update process has been significantly improved for many users. Because the system-wide regulations (used to save battery power) cannot be influenced, however, despite all improvements, no guarantee can be given of a completely trouble-free update of the widgets on all devices available.

Forecast module:

Decide whether your forecast should cover 3, 7 or 14 days or individually define the number of forecast days (3-14 days). In addition, you can modify the weather parameters by using the presetting options and thus, for example, focus on wind or precipitation

Map module:

Choose which preview of the map layer you want to add to your dashboard. The map module always shows you the latest image from the currently three available layers: the radar, the precipitation type radar (distinguishes between rain, snow, etc.) and the infrared satellite image. While the satellite images are available worldwide, WeatherPro provides radar data for Australia, the USA and most of Europe.

Graph module:

You basically just would like to see when it's going to rain or how long the sun will shine for? Then select one of these parameters as "Type" and define under "Period" whether the data should be presented in hourly, 3- or 12-hourly increments. Depending on the set value, the forecast period changes in the module: for 12-hourly data, about 9 days are displayed; for hourly data the next 18 hours are visualized.

Oh no, it looks like many of us are upset about the redesign. They took away features and widgets we enjoyed and the replacement isn't great. It would've been better to keep the old version and introduce this new one separately. Now I have to look for another weather app because the one I liked has been ruined. Who thought this was a smart move?

The weather forecast looks good, but the new app doesn't fully utilize my tablet's screen - it seems to be designed mainly for phones. The feature I liked most was being able to view all the graphs at once for multiple days, which helped me plan outdoor activities. Now, I can only see one graph at a time. I don't think the developers did thorough research to understand what users find important in the app. My wife's iPad version still has the complete experience, so I'm considering looking for alternative apps for Android.

The new app is a letdown. The interface no longer shows all the information at once, and I have to click to see details like wind info. Despite paying for the pro version, I can't access advanced features without getting the premium subscription due to new graphs. Why change something that was almost perfect before? Small improvements would be better, right?

It's sad they went in the wrong direction with their update. Their widgets used to be amazing. I really enjoyed the 4x1 widget with the 4-day forecast. Now, there's only one 4x4 widget that is not very helpful. There are plenty of other choices available, so I'll be switching to something else for sure. I might come back to see if they ever bring back the old version that I paid for, but I'm not getting my hopes up on that.

Oh no, all the settings options have disappeared! Now, the only thing left to do is change the temperature units. It's really important to be able to view all the charts together either next to each other or on top of each other, so we can compare and see how the different parameters are related. This feature was amazing in the old app because it helped us understand and forecast the weather better. But now, each weather variable has its own tab with a giant chart, which just seems like a waste of space. It feels like the app has been simplified too much. Also, the widget transparency doesn't work well on a dark background. It's frustrating that there's no refresh button or update frequency option available anymore.

Oh, I have to tell you about this Android upgrade – it’s a disaster! So, there was this awesome Weatherpro app that I had actually paid for. It was super handy before the upgrade, almost flawless. But now? Completely unusable. The radar map is just awful – all these weird shades of blue that make it impossible to figure out what the weather’s like. It used to be so much better in the previous version. And get this – where did all the other options go? Like CAPE and weather news? Vanished into thin air! Unless they let us switch back to the old version or seriously fix this mess and bring back all the features, it’s as good as dead.

I got this app back in 2013 on iOS, then later on Android, and it's always been my go-to weather app. But now, I might have to consider switching to something else. The new design is really not great. The white background is not easy on the eyes, the forecast graphs don't help in seeing how the weather will change anymore, and the widgets aren't as good as they used to be. I really liked the resizable option. Please, bring back the old design.

The new update for this App has really messed things up. I used to have the premium version, and it was fantastic. It was quick, easy to use, and had loads of useful information. The graphs and charts were top-notch, especially because you could see different data all on one page. The maps were great too. This was the only weather app that I ever thought was worth paying for. Then they changed it...oh no, what a disaster! I tried to stick with it, hoping that future updates would fix the problems. But instead, it just kept getting worse. For me, the new version is almost impossible to use. It takes forever to load and sometimes doesn't even load at all. I often have to close the app and reopen it just to make it work. Once it's open, the user interface is terrible. It's not intuitive at all. Finding the information you need is a real struggle. Even when you do find it, you have to go through different tabs to get all the info, and you can't see everything on one page. What a huge letdown. It's hard to believe that the team behind what was once the best weather app managed to turn it into one of the worst. Right now, I'm trying out other free and paid apps, but none of them are as good as the old WeatherPro! Someone out there has a big opportunity to fill the gap!

So, there was this app that I had for quite a while. However, one day after the update, I had to delete it and look for something else. The new design of the widget and the app itself didn't sit right with me. It just felt confusing, you know? On top of that, it was really glitchy. With the free version, you could only see the weather for your current location. But every time I checked, it kept telling me I was in Berlin when I was actually in Florence. That just messed everything up. Oh, and by the way, I had bought the old version, but turns out that wasn't working smoothly either.
