The Troostwijk Auctions App enables you to participate in our ongoing auctions from any location and at any time. Both companies and individual users are welcome to place bids with Troostwijk Auctions.

This App allows you to receive immediate notifications if your bid is surpassed, ensuring you stay informed about your bidding status.

Established in 1930, Troostwijk Veilingen stands as the largest online auction house for industrial items in Europe. Our proprietary online auction platform is unmatched, bridging the gap between buyers and sellers.

You can view the entire auction process clearly. The App lets you search all available lots, keep track of specific lots, and place bids on them. If you are outbid, you will get a notification alerting you of the change.

We wish you the best of luck!

Are you new to Troostwijk Auctions?

Troostwijk Auctions

Welcome! We are the online auction partner that seamlessly connects companies with the trade of used industrial goods. What is redundant for one company becomes a new beginning for another, transferring value from one business to another.

We’d love to inform you about purchasing industrial machines and materials. From tractors to boats, cars to trucks, entire production lines to store interiors, and much more.

Sellers or consignors register with us to sell items (lots). We work with them to describe the items accurately and provide clear photos showing the product's condition. This way, you know what to expect from the lots you bid on.

You can place bids conveniently through our website or the new mobile app for Android and iOS. You’ll always have a clear understanding of the costs associated with placing your bid.

Buying a lot via Troostwijk Auctions consists of three steps, which we’ll explain below:

1. Bidding: To participate in our auctions, you’ll need to create a Troostwijk account. Want to know more first? Instructions can be found here.

After creating your account, you can quickly and easily start bidding. A few rules apply that we’d like to point out:

Minimum bid increments: You’ll see the next minimum bid required to place. Of course, you can always adjust this to a higher amount if desired.

Auto-bid: Don’t want to bid manually each time? Set a maximum amount to maintain control over your bids.

Place an auto-bid and specify the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for the lot.

If you’re outbid, we’ll automatically increase your bid until you either have the highest bid or reach your limit.

If your limit is reached and someone else places a higher bid, we’ll notify you so you can decide whether to bid again.

Want to cancel the auto-bid? Simply place a new static (one-time) bid for the next required amount.

2-Minute Rule: To prevent being outbid at the last moment before the auction closes, we apply a 2-minute rule. The closing time of a lot is extended by 2 minutes whenever a new bid is placed.

Bids are binding: All bids placed online are final and binding. They cannot be canceled, as there’s no reflection period (right of withdrawal) for public auctions (and all Troostwijk Auctions are public). Withdrawing bids would compromise the integrity of the auction process. Please bid responsibly and within your budget.

For bids over €4,000: A deposit is required to participate. This deposit is refunded after 60 days or upon request. Read more about deposits here.

2. Paying: Once you’ve won a lot, it will appear in your account under ‘My Purchases.’ You’ll receive a notification when your lot is ready for payment. After payment, the invoice will also appear under ‘My Purchases.’

Learn more about the payment process here.

3. Pickup and Delivery: Troostwijk organizes two types of auctions: Pickup Auctions and Delivery Auctions.

Pickup Auctions: We organize one or more pickup days at a specific location where you can collect your won lots. These days are usually fixed and don’t require an appointment. Information about these days can be found on your invoice or in the emails we send you.

Can’t transport yourself? You can hire a transporter (here are transport options).

Unable to attend? Arrange alternative transport through a friend, family member, or hired transporter.

Delivery Auctions: Products are delivered to your (business) address, often within a limited delivery area (e.g., only within the Netherlands, excluding the Wadden Islands, and Belgium). Always carefully check the delivery area information in the lot description and auction information before bidding.

Customer Service: Have questions or need help during or after bidding? Here’s how to contact our customer service.

Safety and Privacy: Do you have questions about your privacy and personal data usage? Read more about how Troostwijk Auctions handles your data.

We wish you an enjoyable bidding experience—and success in winning! We hope to see you often at Troostwijk Auctions.

5 tips to win at an auction

Whether you’re participating in an online auction for the first time or you’re a seasoned bidding expert, taking part in an online auction is not always easy. And we haven’t even mentioned actually winning a lot. You might get outbid or place your bid just a little too late, missing out on that coveted lot.

How can you avoid such disappointments and ensure you secure the lots you really want? In this article, we share five tips to help you win an auction.

Keep checking the auction calendar

Want to increase your chances? Then it’s essential to keep a close eye on the auction calendar. This way, you’ll know exactly when an auction starts and be ready to place your bid as soon as it begins. Good preparation is half the battle and can give you the edge you need to win the lot.

Inspect the lot thoroughly

If you have your eye on a lot, a thorough inspection is essential before placing a bid. Take your time to review the photos and descriptions carefully. Are there viewing days? Be sure to attend them. This allows you to examine the lots up close and know exactly what you’re bidding on.

Add the lot to your favorites

At Troostwijk Auctions, you can follow lots and add them to your favorites list. This ensures you automatically receive updates when a lot becomes available or when an auction is about to end. By planning strategically this way, you won’t miss any opportunities.

Use automatic bidding

A handy feature at Troostwijk Auctions is automatic bidding. This allows you to set a maximum amount, and bids will be placed on your behalf up to your set limit. Automatic bidding not only saves you time but also ensures you don’t unknowingly or unintentionally exceed your budget.

Keep track of the time

In an (online) auction, timing is crucial. You can only place bids within a limited time frame. Make sure to monitor when a lot closes and place your bids on time. This increases your chances of staying ahead of the competition and placing the winning bid.

Start bidding at Troostwijk Auctions

With these five tips, you’ll increase your chances of placing the winning bid at an online auction. Curious about what Troostwijk Auctions has to offer and want to participate in auctions? Take a look at our online auction calendar and start bidding right away. Good luck!

Once an item goes on your list, it's stuck there. It feels a bit chaotic. Having more details right on the front image would be great, such as the auction number and location. Right now, I can't tell if an item belongs to another auction without opening it up.

This app overall shines with its user-friendliness and essential features. It has a solid foundation. Two areas stand out for improvement. The 'kavel' list displays pictures and prices but lacks item descriptions. Adding those would enhance the experience. Also, an advanced search option that allows multiple word searches and wildcards would make finding items much easier. With these tweaks, it could reach perfection.

I bought a kitchen sink, but things went downhill fast. I hired a driver to pick it up for 75 euros. When he arrived, the sink was still stuck to the wall and plumbing. He couldn’t take it because he wasn’t a plumber and had to cancel. Now BVA won’t refund my money. The kicker? They resold the sink to someone else. This feels so wrong, doesn't it?

Great news! The issue got sorted out. The email I used to sign up had 'invalid characters' according to the app. Now, I can’t log in. It seems like the developers missed the mark on validating email addresses. A plus sign should definitely be allowed.
