BLOG——Tips for a Speedy Invigilator Rollout in Educational Institutes
Best Practices for a Seamless Invigilator Rollout
Rolling out new technology across educational institutions can be a daunting task, but with the right approach, it becomes an opportunity to revolutionise learning and assessment. The Invigilator App is transforming how institutions ensure exam integrity while staying accessible to both staff and learners.
Read our overview of proven best practices for a smooth rollout, including staff training, learner engagement and effective change management strategies. Learn how to seamlessly integrate this game-changing app and set the stage for success!
Setting Clear Objectives for Implementation
The foundation of any successful app rollout begins with well-defined objectives. Educational institutions need to determine how The Invigilator App will fit within their existing workflows, addressing specific challenges such as academic dishonesty, learner accessibility and resource constraints.
By mapping these goals to the app’s features, such as photo verification, GPS tracking and audio recording, administrators can set clear expectations for staff and learners. Engaging stakeholders early in the process ensures everyone understands the app’s purpose and benefits. This involvement creates alignment and fosters enthusiasm for the transition.
Prioritising Staff Training & Support
One common concern when introducing new technology is its usability for educators. The Invigilator App offers a user-friendly interface that requires minimal technical expertise. Training sessions should focus on essential functions such as scheduling assessments, reviewing flagged irregularities and interpreting data dashboards.
For example, educators can use the app’s dashboard to track GPS data and confirm the legitimacy of assessments without delving into complex settings. Providing comprehensive guides and ongoing support ensures that staff feel confident and capable during the rollout process.
Ensuring Learner Adoption Through Orientation
Learners play a critical role in the successful adoption of any assessment tool. Institutions should host online orientation sessions where students are introduced to the app’s functionalities, including how to complete photo verification, adhere to GPS requirements and avoid flagged behaviours. Clear communication about the app’s purpose, i.e., to uphold fairness and integrity, helps students see its value rather than viewing it as an obstacle.
Practical walkthroughs can demystify the process. For instance, demonstrating how a student submits an assignment through the app while performing a selfie verification makes the experience tangible and reduces anxiety about using the technology.
Standardising Roll-out Procedures Across Branches
For institutions with multiple branches, consistency is key. Establishing standard operating procedures ensures uniform implementation, regardless of location. Administrators should create a detailed rollout timeline that includes milestones such as training completion, pilot testing and full deployment. Pilot testing in select branches can identify potential roadblocks and refine processes before broader implementation. For instance, feedback from a small group of educators and students can reveal if additional tutorials or system adjustments are necessary.
Fostering A Culture Of Change Management
Change management is vital when introducing new technology. Administrators should emphasise open communication, actively address concerns and celebrate milestones to maintain morale. Appointing “change champions” within the staff body and individuals who understand the app thoroughly and can provide peer support and further streamline the transition. An example of effective change management is encouraging educators to share success stories. Highlighting how the app flagged and resolved a cheating incident reinforces its credibility and utility.
Measuring & Iterating For Success
The rollout process doesn’t end with implementation. Institutions must regularly measure outcomes using the app’s analytics features, such as the number of flagged irregularities or time saved in post-assessment investigations. These insights can guide adjustments to processes, ensuring long-term success.

BLOG——Why Online Education Facilities Need The Invigilator App
Why Online Education Thrives with The Invigilator App
As education evolves in the digital era, institutions across all levels – from primary schools to universities – face increasing challenges in maintaining academic integrity.
The Invigilator App offers a cutting-edge solution, equipping educators with advanced tools to safeguard online assessments, empower learners and ensure fairness.
Maintaining Integrity in Digital Classrooms
In virtual classrooms, ensuring that students adhere to ethical standards during assessments is crucial. The Invigilator App employs AI-driven algorithms to monitor various aspects of online testing.
For instance, facial recognition technology confirms student identities, while GPS tracking identifies anomalies such as students writing exams in close proximity. This comprehensive system reduces the likelihood of dishonest practices, creating a fair testing environment for all.
The app also records audio and video snippets at random intervals, flagging any irregularities, such as conversations or unauthorised presence, for educators to review. These innovations are particularly impactful in settings where invigilators are not physically present, enabling a seamless transition to verified online education without compromising on integrity – ensuring every student has a fair shot.
Empowering Educators With Real-Time Data
Educators across different educational levels benefit from the real-time insights provided by The Invigilator App. Customisable features, such as screen capture and script comparisons, ensure transparency by detecting plagiarism or unauthorised resource usage.
For younger learners, features like automated roll calls using QR codes and GPS tracking help monitor attendance effectively, allowing educators to focus on teaching rather than administrative tasks.
The Invigilator’s dashboard consolidates assessment data, making it accessible and actionable. Educators can pro-actively identify potential issues during exams, reducing the need for lengthy post-assessment investigations. This streamlined process saves time and resources while maintaining academic standards.
Inclusivity for All Learning Environments
The Invigilator App’s design prioritises inclusivity, making it ideal for a diverse range of educational facilities. Its compatibility with entry-level smartphones ensures that students from all socioeconomic backgrounds can access the platform. Moreover, the app’s low data usage and ability to function offline address connectivity challenges, particularly in rural or under-resourced areas.
These features have made the app a trusted tool for institutions like UCT Online High School and Curro Academy Schools, where ensuring equal opportunities for all students is paramount. By bridging the digital divide, the app fosters a more equitable educational experience.
Adapting to a Post-Pandemic World
The shift to online education, accelerated by the pandemic, highlighted the importance of robust digital tools. With traditional proctoring methods often unsuitable for virtual settings, The Invigilator App addresses key challenges, such as verifying student identities and detecting academic dishonesty, without imposing additional costs on institutions.
As online education becomes a permanent fixture in many schools and universities, educators and learners need to be equipped with the tools to navigate this transition effectively. I can't scan, had to use other phone to write exam today. it pics up the slightest movement while I try to scan which delays the time it will take to complete. not user friendly. the 10 minutes given lapsed while trying to scan as it couldn't focus. yoh this was the worst. Mind you, my phone app is still not scanning at all, so I was doing this on another device.
Support is more useless than the app itself. The app wouldn't scan a document and I sent them a video showing all the steps I've taken and they respond with a generic answer. When I follow the steps they say I must take (when I had already taken them) I show from uninstalling and reinstalling and the only thing they can tell me is I need to borrow another phone. Good support would have asked for a phone model, OS version etc.
The idea behind the app is great. Being able to write at home has been better for my anxiety and stress levels so that I don't have a problem with. The problem, is the app itself! It is very distracting because if the action completed is blurred, then you have to do it again. This takes time away from actually writing the exam. And when the app wants to see the exam script, it is 10 minutes into the exam so the page is blank. It doesn't make sense and is very frustrating.
Let's be honest. This app is the shittiest app ever. For starters it doesn't invigilate anyone. You can cheat under it's very nose. All it does is waste a student's valuable time telling them to take pictures of everthing except their privates. The uploading of scripts(which is the whole point of an exam) just doesn't happen on this app. The damn thing does a lot here from uploading scripts from the previous exam instead of scanning the current one to just freezing on you.
Really terrible app. By reading the reviews, there are too many issues. It should of been tested thoroughly and then rolled out. I understand that this is a new app and you will, in some cases have issues, but students really dont have the time for this just before an exam. I cant get pass the selfie camera step. The camera "button" is inactive. My phone is updated and all permissions granted.
