The popular crime series Tatort has been on air for over 1,000 episodes. The first Tatort crime story from Leipzig, featuring NDR commissioner Paul Trimmel (Walter Richter), was broadcast in 1970. Since 1971, investigations have also taken place in the Austrian Tatort; since 1998, Moritz Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer) has been solving cases in Vienna, and since 2010, Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser) has joined the Austrian team.
