Sphero Edu serves as a central platform for creating, sharing, and expanding knowledge through Sphero robots. Enhance learning by integrating distinctive STEAM lessons to execute with your robot.
This platform is structured to support learners' development; beginners can instruct robots by sketching a route within the app for their robot to follow. Intermediate users can explore more complex concepts using Scratch blocks, while advanced programmers have the option to utilize text-based programming and write their own JavaScript code.
Designed for makers, students, teachers, and parents alike, Sphero Edu offers an engaging environment that allows you to monitor your class or group all from one convenient location. Users can save their progress, switch between different devices, and continue exploring from virtually anywhere. Learning has never been this enjoyable.

Sphero® Named One of Fast Company’s Annual List of the World’s Most Innovative Education Companies of 2025
Press ReleaseAmanda VadenMar 18, 2025
GREENVILLE, Texas, March 18, 2025 -- Sphero, Inc., the leader in programmable robots and hands-on STEM learning tools, is proud to have been named to Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s Most Innovative Education Companies of 2025. This year’s list shines a spotlight on businesses shaping industry and culture through their innovations to set new standards and achieve remarkable milestones in all sectors of the economy. Alongside the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies, Fast Company recognizes 609 organizations across 58 sectors and regions.
“At Sphero, innovation isn’t just something we strive for, it’s foundational to how we create and deliver meaningful learning experiences,” said Paul Copioli, Sphero CEO. “Our content-first approach to product development ensures students and teachers can quickly and easily grasp complex concepts in a fun and engaging way. Being named among the most innovative education companies in the world is an incredible honor, but what truly drives us is our daily impact in classrooms – helping students develop the skills they need for the careers of tomorrow.”
In the past year, Sphero has continued to redefine STEM education with cutting-edge learning solutions like the award-winning BOLT+, the newest evolution of its most popular programmable round robot. The company has also expanded its Career and Technical Education (CTE) classroom solutions with the launch of Blueprint Engineering. These tools and corresponding curricula make hands-on learning and workforce development more accessible, engaging, and fun for students at all levels.
With a powerful combination of hardware, software, standards-aligned lessons, and teacher support, Sphero transforms how educators teach and students learn. Together, they’re turning fun at school now into valuable skills for the future.
The World’s Most Innovative Companies stands as Fast Company’s hallmark franchise and one of its most anticipated editorial efforts of the year. To determine honorees, Fast Company’s editors and writers review companies driving progress around the world and across industries, evaluating thousands of submissions through a competitive application process. The result is a globe-spanning guide to innovation today, from early-stage startups to some of the most valuable companies in the world.
“Our list of the Most Innovative Companies offers both a comprehensive look at innovation today and a playbook for the future,” said Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan. “This year, we recognize companies that are harnessing AI in deep and meaningful ways, brands that are turning customers into superfans by overdelivering for them, and challengers that are introducing bold ideas and vital competition to their industries. At a time when the world is rapidly shifting, these companies are charting the way forward.”
The full list of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies honorees can now be found at fastcompany.com. It will also be available on newsstands beginning March 25.
Fast Company will host the Most Innovative Companies Summit and Gala for honorees on June 5. The summit features a day of inspiring content, followed by a creative black-tie gala including networking, a seated dinner, and an honoree presentation.

Great app. There are a a bunch of programs from the sphero community and I was even able to create my own through simple dragging and dropping some blocks. i am not a programmer but I could learn to use it without trouble. I love that I can set how my sphero moves, make sounds and speak. The sound library is good but I wish I could add my own sounds. Is it possible to enable the app to use a microphone so i could record my own sounds? Or at least include one from my ipad library? These would be a simple but great functionality to add in a future update.
I used to love Sphero but I am very disappointed at it now. I got a Sphero bolt for Christmas a year ago,I didn't use it just much and it was very well taken care of but 3 months later it wouldn't charge . I contacted sphero customer support somebody told me a couple things that I could try but that didn't work. I got it for Christmas so I don't know where it was from I didn't have the box either. I was told that I could only get a replacement if it was from the Sphero itself. My bolt broke within the one year warranty. Although I am frustrated with Sphero, Devrann Harding was a good customer support agent.
Sphero is a garbage, scam company. Have 3 droids (BB-8, R2-D2 and BB-9E) and Lightning McQueen that no longer work because of this company just deciding to no longer make usable apps for them. Literally close to $1000 in items bought from this company that less than 10 years (5 in the case of Lightning McQueen) that just basically no longer usable. Go preach your education and building for the future somewhere else because the only thing you’ve educated me on is you only care about the money not the product.
I’ve had a Sphero rvr+ for 2 years I love it and the coding is super nice but the range on the rvr+ is not that great for a car that can do lots of things like all terain driving. The introduction Video says it is the go anywhere do anything robot but for the range it is not good. Also my son is ready for text coding but there are no lessons on that. It says bolt is compatible with the text lessons but my rvr+ is not.
I could not be more disappointed and angry that this does not support the droids. We bought all the Star Wars droids. They are now garbage, they might as be paper weights. I feel Shpero should give some sort of refund for trashing the app that controls these droids. what a waste of money, I will NEVER purchase another sphero product again. what's the point if your going to just trash the apps that control them, no thanks. That's some dirty business screwing loyal customers like that, never again!
This is absolutely garbage! pulled my BB8 droid out to show my kids the interactive capabilities and instead, I'm directed to this app that gives the droid none of it's original effects. sphero used to be a good company but now it looks like it's just abandoned their customers that spent money on a product and have been telling them there is nothing they can do about it. I'll never buy another Sphero product. Sphero should be reimbursing everyone that have wasted their money on these products.
