You can monitor your transport card balance and recharge cards in the regions of Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Kirov, and Mari El through the Siticard mobile application.
Wherever you are, you can easily check the status of your transport card at any time by simply opening the Siticard app from NovaCard JSC and placing your transport card against the back of your NFC-enabled phone.
The app allows you to create a virtual transport card on devices equipped with NFC. This convenient virtual card comes with a favorable tariff, offers instant top-ups, and ensures that your balance is always up-to-date. Additionally, the app supports the issuance of multiple virtual cards, with terms and options varying by region.
If your smartphone lacks NFC capabilities, you can still check your balance using the barcode or the transport card number.
You can recharge your transport card using a payment card from any bank without incurring any fees. You also have the option to select a more appropriate tariff for your transport card.
Top-up transactions initiated via the transport card number and completed through Sberbank Online or the Siticard site can likewise be transferred to your transport card within the Siticard app. To access this feature, you'll need to log into your profile or create one. Note that this functionality works only with phones that have an NXP certified NFC controller.
Please note: if your device does not fully support NFC services for transport, you can write operations for Nizhny Novgorod transport cards at the balance terminals in the Nizhny Novgorod Metro or MFC. Replenishment and extension actions for all types of cards can be processed through the transport validator the day after payment (however, tariff change operations cannot be executed via the transport validator).
The Siticard app provides detailed information about your journeys made with your transport card. You’ll be able to see not just the date and time of your trips but also the type of transportation used, route number, and the tariff at which the fare was settled.
The enhanced features of your personal profile will enable you to obtain quick updates about completed payments and stay informed with the latest news from Siticard. All essential service information will be readily accessible. Even without internet connectivity, you can retrieve necessary information, locate the nearest service point on a map, and find answers to common inquiries.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is a Citycard virtual transport card (VTC)?
A Virtual Transport Card (VTC) is a digital transport card located in the CITYCARD app on the user's mobile device.
The VTC allows you to pay for travel with any standard public transport card, including fares with free transfers, on the metro, trams, trolleybuses, and buses in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the city of Yoshkar-Ola on all routes served by the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Mari El "Trolleybus Transport."
2. Is a Virtual Transport Card secure?
Yes, it is secure. An image of a real transport card is created on the phone using HCE technology. The VTC is issued through a trusted card issuing server using a secure protocol and modern cryptographic algorithms.
VTC data is protected from viewing, modification, and movement by the mobile device's security module and special tools. 3. What phone do I need to use VTK?
You will need an Android phone that supports NFC technology. The phone must have the Citycard mobile app installed, which is available for download from the Google Play store or RuStore.
4. How can I determine if my phone supports NFC?
Go to your phone's settings. In the "Search" field at the top, enter "NFC."
From the search results, go to the NFC connection section and check if this feature is enabled on your device.
If your search returns no results, contactless payment is not supported on your device.
5. How do I issue a virtual transport card in the app?
To issue a virtual transport card, log in to your profile in the Citycard mobile app. If you don't have a profile yet, you must create one by registering with your email address.
After logging in, select "Virtual Card" on the app's main screen. After reviewing the issuance terms, tap "Issue Card." After paying for the annual activation fee, your VTC will be issued within a few minutes.
Information about your issued VTC, including its number and expiration date, will be displayed on the app's main screen. You can also check your issued VTC in the relevant section of your profile.

6. How much does it cost to activate a virtual transport card?
Issuing a Citycard virtual transport card is a service provided to the user for an activation fee of 100 rubles per year.
If you issued your VTC on September 1, 2022, it will be active until September 2, 2023, inclusive, after which the card will need to be renewed.
7. What tariffs are available for the virtual transport card?
Currently, you can assign one of the general (non-concessional) tariffs to your virtual transport card, just like to a regular plastic card. In Nizhny Novgorod, you can use an electronic wallet (EK) with free 60/90-minute transfers, a monthly bus, metro, trolleybus, or tram pass, a monthly all-transit pass, or a limited-day or limited-trip pass.
In Yoshkar-Ola, you can use a monthly bus or trolleybus pass, a combined monthly bus-trolleybus pass, or a combined limited-trip pass.
