Getting started

1. What's on the home screen

Navigate the app by switching between the tabs at the bottom:

You can find your customized daily plan on the Home tab. To access it, you’ll do quick daily check-ins with Avo™ — your AI health coach, who will help you choose the best course of action for the day

Avo™ tailor a list of daily actions based on your inputs — just let it know about your energy levels, share any concerns you may have, and it’ll take care of the rest. Once you're done with the check-in, you'll get your plan with actions to focus on for the day:

You can access your daily plan using the link provided by Avo™ or by returning to the Home screen:

Your daily plan resets each morning, so don't forget to check in every day and keep your streak going!💪

Good to note: When you track your actions with Simple, they are automatically marked as completed once you achieve your goals. For added flexibility, you can also choose to manually mark actions as done or update the tracking details at any time.

Here, you can chat with your health coach, Avo™, to receive personalized feedback on your meals, guidance on your fasting schedule, nutrition and workout advice, and much more.

Looking for a place to log your fasts, food, hydration, movement and activity? Tap on the Track tab. Let's see what you can find there 👇

At the top you'll see a timeline with the current day, as well as your profile icon at the top right:

You can see your previously logged fasts and food by tapping on the specific day of the week. To switch between weeks, simply swipe left or right.

Below the calendar you'll find your Fasting Tracker, which will show you how long you've fasted, when your next fast will begin, and when it's time to stop fasting:

In this section you’ll discover Nutrition Scores for each meal you log. Daily nutrition will reveal the average for the day. 

When you're in your eating window, you'll see how much time is remaining until the next fast:

2. Where do I start?

📙 The basics

Logging food, hydration, movement, and fasts

Simple is not a strict schedule-based app, it's a tracker. It relies on your input to understand when you're actually fasting. That's why manually logging meals, hydration, movement, and fasts in Simple is a core mechanics of the app and takes little time and even less effort.

🥑 Food

The most important part of fasting with Simple is to keep a detailed and honest track of everything you eat and drink. Please ensure you always log everything in the app.

💧 Hydration

You're 60% water, let's keep it that way! Staying hydrated is essential for your mind and body. With Simple, you can keep track of your hydration status directly on the main screen and use the + button to log your liquid intakes throughout the day.

🏃 Movement

Staying active is an essential part of your well-being. It's also an important part of the fasting experience for people who want to see some positive weight changes in their body. We put the Movement tracker on the main screen so you can see your current status and log your activity with a single tap.

📅 Changing your fasting schedule

If you feel like your current fasting schedule isn't working for you, don't hesitate to try a new one! You can always change your fasting schedule by tapping the settings icon to the left of the End fast button at the top of the screen:

📈 Getting valuable insights on your well-being

You can always get a quick overview of your journey and get valuable insights into your overall well-being on the Progress tab at the bottom of the app:

3. How to log and edit food

    1. Navigate to the Track tab. If you don't see a Track tab in your app, please navigate to the Home tab.

    2. Tap the Log food button

    3. Then type what you ate. For example: “2 eggs, half an avocado, 1 slice of sourdough.”

Alternatively, tap the mic or camera icon to log your meal using your voice or by scanning your food with a camera:

Our AI will translate your words or image into written text, so you can check the accuracy of your food entry.

    4. When you’ve confirmed that the details of your meal are correct, tap Done:

After your food is logged, our algorithm, designed by our nutrition scientists, will provide a Nutrition Score and personalized feedback on your meal. Each food is assessed in terms of nutritional factors that can influence weight and health, like how much fiber, protein, and healthy fat they contain and how calorie-dense they are.

    5. Tap Close at the bottom, and that’s it! You’ve just logged your meal:

    I've been using it for more than a week. It's easy to use, but if you forget to log a meal from the day before, you can't choose the meal or adjust the time to PM. It's really frustrating because this should be a simple feature. I've tried editing my logged time, but it only lets me log AM times.

    I liked using the app, it worked just like I expected and was very useful. But I'm giving it one star because they suddenly increased the subscription price from $29.99 to $59.99 without any notice. When I asked for a refund, they just canceled my subscription and did not give me back the money.

    The app is great, it explains things clearly so you can understand. It has cool articles and little bits of info every day to keep you focused. The fasting timer is essential. I've started eating better and lost weight in just over 2 weeks of intermittent fasting. I suggest giving it a try.

    Be cautious when your subscription renews automatically because it costs double the original price. The app should remind you a week before renewal as refunds are quite restricted. Still, the app is great with useful nutrition tips and helped me adopt intermittent fasting.

But what really worked for me with this app was getting into the routine of my daily eating window – like fasting for 18 hours and eating in a 6-hour window.     The tracking feature is great and AI technology is impressive. Taking a photo of the food to identify it is really convenient. But, the app has a lot of issues. It often freezes when I try to add food, duplicates entries for food and drinks, and even deleted my fasting log once. It's so annoying. I probably won't continue using this app.
