6 December 2024 – Enhancements to the SARS MobiApp

The SARS MobiApp has been enhanced to includes the following additional tax services: “My Auto Assessment Status” and “Tax Return Status Dashboard”. These additional tax services are to resolve the following queries:

My Auto Assessment Status – This service allows the taxpayer to know whether he/she has been selected for an auto assessment during filing season.

Tax Return Status Dashboard – This service allows the taxpayer to view the progress of their submitted income tax return. Overall, this service provides the taxpayer with a visual status of the progress of their Personal Income Tax return in terms of submission, verification/audit and refund processing. 

How to install SARS Mobile eFiling on your Android device:

Click on the Continue To App button on our website. This will redirect you to Google Play.

Once the SARS Mobile eFiling is shown in the Google Play listing of your Android device, you can start its download and installation. Tap on the Install button located below the search bar and to the right of the app icon.

A pop-up window with the permissions required by SARS Mobile eFiling will be shown. Click on Accept to continue the process.

SARS Mobile eFiling will be downloaded onto your device, displaying a progress. Once the download completes, the installation will start and you'll get a notification after the installation is finished.

-Submit and edit your ITR12 from your device, giving you control and flexibility over your tax submissions.

- Access a tax calculator for an estimated assessment outcome, helping you to anticipate your financial position.

- Check the status of your submitted return, offering transparency and peace of mind.

- Review a summary of your Notice of Assessment and Statement of Account, allowing for easy financial tracking and management.

As a registered eFiler, you can leverage the SARS eFiling App to:

• Access, fill out, and submit your annual basic Income Tax Return (ITR12)

• Save and modify your ITR12 locally on your device

• Utilize the tax calculator for an estimate of your assessment outcome

• Monitor your return's status post-submission

• Review a summary of your Notice of Assessment (ITA34)

• Check out a summary of your Statement of Account (ITSA).

Will all my details be updated on eFiling when I use the mobile channels?

Yes. The information captured on the ITR12 return will be updated on eFiling if any changes were made via the mobile channels. You can also save your individual Income Tax return on your mobile device and submit at a later stage.
