Radio Televisyen Malaysia Selects PlayBox Neo for its RTMKlik Digital Media Platform
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, October 11th, 2022: State broadcaster Radio Televisyen Malaysia has joined the global customer base of television networks using PlayBox Neo channel branding and playout. Two complete CIAB systems have been integrated into RTM’s headquarters at the Angkasapuri International Broadcast Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The project was supervised by Selangor-based broadcast system integrator Amrick Solutions Sdn. Bhd. in close partnership with data storage and broadcast solutions specialist Integriti Padu Sdn. Bhd.
“RTMKlik is one of the most prominent free-to-watch OTT services here in Malaysia,” says KC Veins, founder and Managing Director of Amrick Solutions Sdn. Bhd. “It is currently accessible to more than 20 million viewers. Together with Integriti Padu Sdn. Bhd., we are honored to be able to assist RTM closely. The challenges RTM faced were how to run its OTT service with the greatest possible ease, efficiency, stability, and flexibility, while at the same time generating large audiences for its FTA channels and VOD content. RTM’s technical operations team identified PlayBox Neo CIAB as the ideal choice both for live and prescheduled automated playout. They particularly like the combination of AirBox Neo-20 and Multi Playout Manager which are easy to use and inherently future-proof. PlayBox Neo solutions are also very effective from an SI viewpoint. Installation, commissioning and training were all accomplished effortlessly in a single day.”
“The new system supplied to RTM for its RTMKlik OTT service includes two triple-channel CIABs in primary-plus-one configuration plus a Multi Playout Manager monitoring and control system,” adds Desmon Goh, Managing Director Asia-Pacific. “Each PlayBox Neo CIAB comprises an AirBox Neo-20 playout and IP streaming server, Capture Suite live ingest server, TitleBox Neo-20 interactive graphics, and ListBox Neo-20 pre-transmission scheduler. The combination is a highly reliable turnkey system based on industry-proven hardware and software modules.”
“Our Channel-in-a-Box system continues to be the world’s best-selling playout and channel branding product suite,” comments PlayBox Neo CEO Pavlin Rahnev. “Highly popular with media organizations of all sizes, from individual channels all the way up to state broadcasters and multi-national networks, it combines long-term cost efficiency with the freedom to add online solutions quickly, such as our SaaS-based Cloud2TV for supplementary channels or facilities such as an off-site disaster recovery center.”
PlayBox Neo Channel-in-a-Box is a turnkey playout server solution for broadcasting single or multiple television channels in HD or UHD. It provides a seamless workflow to keep a channel on-air by combining scheduling, ingest, playout, CG and interactive graphics within one box. Also included are remote tools to enhance QC checks, preparation, and monitoring. The output can be SDI or IP streaming. PlayBox Neo CIAB is suitable for a variety of applications including terrestrial, satellite, and online broadcasting, pay-TV, and third-party playout service provision.
