To get started

    1. Log in to your Ria account on the app or website.

    2. Click "Send" or "Send money".

The currency conversion step

    1. Choose the country you're sending money to.

    2. Complete either the 'You send' or the 'Recipient gets' field:

        'You send' is how much you're sending in your home currency.

        'Recipient gets' is the amount your recipient receives.

        Need to pay a bill or send a specific amount in another currency? 5. Complete the 'Recipient gets' field first.

    3. Decide how you want to pay

        Time sensitive transfer? The fastest way to pay is by credit or debit card.

    4. Choose your delivery method

        You can send money to your recipient's bank account. If available, you'll also have the option to arrange a cash pickup or send to a mobile wallet.

    5. Enter your recipient's details

        Pay an existing recipient or add someone new.

    6. Pay for your transfer

        Choose one of your existing payment methods or add a new one.

    7. Send your money

        Give your transfer one final check; let's get your money on its way!

1. How do I send money directly to my recipient's payment card or bank account by cash pickup?

To send money to your recipient's payment card or bank account by cash pickup follow the steps below. 

    Arrange a cash pickup transfer

    Share the cash pickup PIN number with your recipient

    Your recipient logs into their online account or app and enters the cash pickup PIN

    Your recipient follows the process as set out by their payment provider to receive the money transfer

Please note: each provider has a different process which your recipient should follow in order to receive the transfer. They should contact their payment provider directly if they have any problems receiving the money. 

2. How to share transfer details with your recipient

Share transfer details with your recipient as soon as it's created or from the Activity screen later on, either on the app or in your online account. 

Share details from the Transfer Created screen:

    Click the Share order details button to send them to your recipient by email or text message 

    From the Activity screen later on:

    In the Ria app or on web, choose the transfer you want to share from the Activity screen

    On the Transfer Details screen, tap the arrow in the top right-hand corner

3. How do I delete a recipient?

On the app:

    Tap Recipients at the bottom of the screen

    Tap your recipient’s name

    Tap Edit

    Tap Delete

    Tap Delete again to confirm

4. How to send money after seeing the “Oops!” error

The bug sometimes appears when you try to send a transfer to someone on your recipient list — either using our Send again feature or after selecting your recipient on the Recipient details page.

If this bug happens to you, the error message will look similar to: Oops! Something went wrong. Try again.

To bypass this bug, you’ll need to delete your recipient from the Recipient list, restart the sending process, and enter your recipient’s information again.
